The age of the internet has made information easier to find and makes people more eager to find any possible spoilers.RyGuy wrote:I am pretty sure we did this for Tangled. One user (whose identity is escaping me at the moment) saw the film before it was released and basically wrote up the entire story - including a fair amount of dialog - on her blog then linked it here.
Not as sure about PatF. I remember finding out about Tiana and Naveen getting married as frogs in the swamp prior to the film coming out. But I don't remember how far away from release date that was.
Honest question here . . . for those who get upset about things being spoiled, what exactly are you looking for in a thread such as this two months before the release? You already know the title, the premise, the cast and the release date.
I actually come here looking for spoilers.

Actually, I was like this LONG before the Internet came along. For instance, I bought the soundtrack for Beauty and the Beast (on cassette - lol) and memorized it probably a month before the movie came out.jazzflower92 wrote:The age of the internet has made information easier to find and makes people more eager to find any possible spoilers.
And I would scour the newspaper and magazines looking for any info about upcoming films, their casts, their plot, etc.
I'm still surprised . . . I just like my surprises early

Maybe this is just a Disney fan thing. Did Disney fans back then had anything to say about those changes from the original fairy tale?RyGuy wrote:Actually, I was like this LONG before the Internet came along. No idea, jazzflower. i didn't know that many. I only had one friend who was also a big Disney fan at that time. I'm not sure either of us was that familiar with the original story to have much of an opinion.

Yeah, I am asking because I was born in 1992 and come to think of it I was developing into a Disney fan from day one since we had so many Disney movies when my parents were still married.RyGuy wrote:No idea, jazzflower. i didn't know that many. Speaking of the 90's, I wonder what could have been if the Snow Queen/Frozen was developed in Disney Renaissance because there were plans to make it in that decade.

Haha yes I created a spoiler blog for Tangled after seeing it in October at a free screening (which I found out about on here, actually). I also had a spoiler thread on imdb for a while, kept me pretty busy for a few days. I would happily repeat that experience with Frozen if given the chance, lol. There's like a whole subculture of folks who just go to screenings all the time, apparently. Really interesting. We also got free plastic bags with nothing in them, so that was exciting.
Personally I love spoilers and actively seek them out. I read once that knowing the ending to a book beforehand increases the reader's enjoyment, and for me it's absolutely true.

Yes!!! It was your blog! I absolutely agree with your sentiment. You did a great job dissecting the movie and then when I actually got to see it for myself, I enjoyed it all the more. Heck, I still enjoy that movie every few weeks!phan258 wrote:Welcome new forum member!

I would also argue that spoilers can help one digest unfavorable plot points. Case in point: I know a lot of Frozen fans who don't like the second half of the movie as spoiled by the Junior Novelization, but at least are glad they were spoiled before watching the film with fresh eyes.

Absolutely OK with that last point ! All what i've read about the FROZEN novelisation was sometimes a bit strange and disappointing but i have 2 months to get used to it and "digest" it... In fact, the more i "digest" it, the more i like it.Warm Regards wrote:I would also argue that spoilers can help one digest unfavorable plot points.
Anyway, concerning the lovers-or-not themes and villains-or-not themes, i'm afraid a lot of people who don't want to be spoilered at all now are going to be devastated when discovering all that all suddenly sat in the theaters the D Day...

Re: Frozen: Part IV
It's kind of sad but... it's like people don't care about it that much anymore now.
People just moved on...
Well, except if it's a long dramatic beautiful trailer full of music and exclusive footage... It could be that way, regarding how long they took to edit it. Well, i hope the trailer is that good. But honestly, people just moved on now...

Re: Frozen: Part IV
^I'll comment on that. I don't think people have necessarily 'moved on' - they just aren't actively involved like a select few are. I for one haven't posted in this thread in quite some time, but not because I don't care anymore - just because there hasn't been anything I've been interested in discussing. All the Hans Hans Hans stuff doesn't interest me in the slightest, I'd rather not beat the plot to death before we even have any idea how it will be executed, and there just hasn't been any actual news for a long time.
But I'm definitely eagerly awaiting the trailer.

Re: Frozen: Part IV
Ed, you always sound so dramatic...pfff
This thread became so boring to me.
Most of you acted with any respect to the production crew who STILL work hard to accomplish their work before the release of the movie, which will happen in 2 months and an half (which is a lot of time left to make the promotion!).
The most important as the fans we are supposed to be is the movie itself, and not the books based on it!!
Those books were made aside of the movie and they are of course different!
I can't understand though why Disney still release their range of books so early before the movie...too bad, too stupid because some fans can't resist (which I can understand by evidence) but there are now so many speculations and judgments... stupid internet sometimes!
I can get that the toys are released before but this thread ruined a bit the joy to discover an all new Disney movie we are all waiting for right?
But people won't moved on Ed ; wait 'til we'll see the full trailer soon : isn't it the most exciting thing before the release after all? Common'...be faithful and optimistic.

Re: Frozen: Part IV
I've actually missed almost every spoiler as you can't read through the black bars on an iphone, so have have pretty much missed the entire thing!
On another note, the preview showed before TLM on blu, and my dad was watching it ...... and he laughed his head off. So another success ! The teaser does indeed work it appears ....

Those are Mattel and there are villains there.
yeah but those were made back in 1996. Mattel(& Disney) was a different company in the 90s, better quality toys, better concepts. The whole princess franchise hadnt been created & taken top priority back then & the animated films were treated as individual entities, not all shoved under one franchise with emphasis on all things Princessy & pretty & pink.
try to find a Mattel made toy of Faciller or Gothel today.
Re: Frozen: Part IV

I get your point anyway
I don't really care about whether Hans is the bad guy or not.(I don't think it's a spoiler because it's all based on fans thoughts) Actually, I care but I don't want to know it yet
The thing I'm dying for is the music.

Well sorry i did'nt mean to sound dramatic this time. It's just about what i can see and read on the web, people getting bored and fighting about this or that... I mean, we get tired, you're right, the web is crap sometimes.
Or maybe i was speaking about me. I mean, i don't care about that new trailer anymore, i'm just waiting for the movie in november. People are acting like if that trailer was the holy grail. We have to " move on " a little, waiting for november...
As for all my friends and people around me, they don't know about Frozen.

Well, I guess this finally confirms that Beck is indeed scoring this film. They really played up the role of the Lopez's at his expense, wonder why they had to be so evasive about this earlier though.Jennifer Lee @alittlejelee 11h
Listening to Christophe Beck work is heavenly layered right on top of heavenly.

Somewhat ironic...Sotiris wrote:However with recent retro gaming gorge ‘Wreck-It Ralph’, Disney was accused of treading on Pixar’s creative toes. Not so says Peter, who believes his studio will continue to make the most original movies, whilst Pixar “struggle” with sequels. “[Our studio] is so filmmaker driven,” says Peter. “So directors get to decide along with John Lasseter (Chief Creative Officer at both WDAS and Pixar) what their films are.” “Pixar right now is struggling because obviously with the success of their original movies they’re doing a lot of sequels. But that also means at the same time they’re not coming up with original content. That’s the one thing I love about Disney Animation Studios now, is that we can.”

"OH COME ON, REALLY?!?!"
