I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. I would have given so much to watch this movie again on the big screen as an adult (first and only time was in 1990). As for the restoration, I guess you can call it a tremendous improvement over the last restoration. The 1999 DVD was grainy at all scenes and washed out in more than a few. Do you remember at least one scene where you thought the picture looked grainy? Thanks for sharing your story with usPluto Region1 wrote: Some very early scenes looked momentarily grainy or washed out but like I said, I am not in a position to give you an educated opinion on what I observed. Maybe it is just a function of being 3 rows back in front of a super giant screen or maybe those scenes are intended to look that way.

MY "FAB FOUR": 1- FANTASIA, 2- THE LION KING, 3- BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, 4- THE JUNGLE BOOK

So am I!! I checked back on different DVD sites and noticed that other platinum edition releases had been reviewed online about 2-3 weeks before their respective release so it should be happening real soon. I'm on the edge of my seat. And to think I'm gonna get my copy only in mid-late Octoberbrotherbear wrote:Oh, and I was wondering, when will we get the review for TLM?? The Little Match Girl is one of my favorite fairy tales. Here in Holland we have a theme park called "Efteling" with a fairy tale forest. Their version of the Little Match Girl (Het Meisje met de Zwavelstokjes) is beautyful. I can't wait for the DVD so I can see the Disney version. The Little Merman wrote:"The Little Match Girl" is just so heartbreaking. I remember reading the story when I was a bit younger and just being so saddened. I can't wait to see how the short was.

Disney's musical Tarzan. Coming to Holland 2007.
I hope to find one store that has the DVD at an excellent price. The problem is I would love to get freebies and every store that offers them offers something different. And earlier this year I got gypped on the "Go Fetch" playing cards @ Circuit City because they weren't in yet (and that was ON the release day).
So, any word yet on what the freebies at Best Buy & Circuit City will be? Walmart usually matches prices from the Best Buy or Circuit City Ad (or an ad from a place called Mega Mart here in my state) but I want to try to get a freebie this year. I think $14.99 would be a reasonable price for the DVD. I'll need to get three copies (me, my 5 year old niece and my 7 year old niece).

Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Ill probably preorder mine a week before its release online from Disney. I was gonna order the package that came with all the lithos framed but that package seems to have dissapeared from the site.

I pre-ordered my copy with the lithos, plush, and pin a month ago. Right after I ordered it, I got an e-mail telling me it was on backorder, but that I would have it by Oct 20th. I got another e-mail 4 days ago telling me that it's backordered even further. This time there was no date given. Only a promise that I would have it within 30 days of my original estimated date of delivery. I think they sold more pre-orders than they had plushs and pins to give. I've only had this happen to me once and that was with "Finding Nemo." I ended up cancelling my order and have regretted it since because the pin for that was very cool! Anyways, I'll end up buying the film in the stores when it comes out cause I can't wait and I always pick up an extra copy of the Platinums for in case purposes (I would hate to have something happen to a disc and it be to late for Disney to give me a replacement). But anyways, that's why you can no longer pre-order it with the litho, plus, and pin.I was gonna order the package that came with all the lithos framed but that package seems to have dissapeared from the site.

That is simply magical. Not only is that one of the best live performances I have ever seen, but it seems like the setting was just right. The audience certainly must have had an experience for life (wish I'd been there :/)
Thanks for posting; even though it's somewhat monotone to look at, it's easy to imagine how much better it must have been in real life.
October's just around the corner, peepz

the miserable, the lonely and depressed. Pathetic?
Wow! Jodie is a great singer!
Thanks so much for posting MerXan! It made my day!
I know it's probably too late for this, but I think that they should add this and other moments from that night to the bonus features on the Platinum Edition DVD.

Good luck with that. I don't see how you'll ever get a chance to watch it without your parents knowing about it.nachonaco wrote:But how do I hide it?
I still don't see why your not allowed to buy this, or any Disney movie for that matter...

That video is simply awesome!!! Thank you MerXan for posting that!!
I can't understad that your parents don't want you to buy the DVD. It's ridiculous!!! I mean, it's a Disney movie, it's rated G!! What's bad about that? Would they prefer if you watched movies rated R.
And many of the UD members here aren't 18 yet, so we're "kids" talking about our faves.
