As presenter Johnson escorted him off-stage, he asked Williams for advice on voicing the demi-god Maui in the upcoming Disney animated feature Moana. “He was asking about the process and looking for tips for voiceover,” says Williams, 46. “I’ve been a fan of his since his wrestling days, so it was nice to have that time with him.”

In this photo you can see Disney artists doing research for Kuni and in this photo you can see a pig sketch by Normand Lemay.

Casting for the lead role is still underway, with the filmmakers holding open audition. They’re keen to find a Polynesian actress of an appropriate age, and who will be able to handle the film’s songs. Moana herself is the youngest child, and only daughter, of Chief Waialiki, and something of a nerd about navigation and seafaring. Though, typically, this is something her culture would ban Moana from engaging with, her story is going to send Moana on a voyage of her own.

Besides the seas, her other specialist subject is the demi-God Maui, a now-reclusive, fallen hero. In his day, Maui was a champion brawler, putting wrongs to right with the aid of a huge fishhook and a little bit of muscle, but as the film starts, he’s become something of a hermit. Though, as you might expect, his biggest fan is about to have some impact on this.

Still great news. So happy for him!

BTW: Could these hashtags be song lyrics/a quote from the movie: "We Truly Know Where We're Going...When We Understand Where We're From"

The reporter clearly haven't seen enough Disney movies, as he/she claims that Disney is slowly diversifying their universe. He clearly haven't seen "Lilo & Stitch", "Mulan", "Brother Bear", "Atlantis" or even "Big Hero 6".

They better not change the title to some kind of adjective. Frozen was actually understandable because it was loosely based on The Snow Queen.

At least "Frozen" made sense as a title, since it was a metaphor for the theme of the movie.

Either way, the logo isn't bad, but it isn't as different as the previous logo that was leaked. Dissapointing that "Giants" wasn't on the schedule.

If he's recording, wouldn't they have the actress for Moana by now?

While only a few details have been revealed about Moana so far, that hasn't stopped it from getting accused of plagiarizing another animated project.
