The thing we should remember is that Brenda Chapman is still working at Pixar, and will hopefully get another chance to direct in the future.

As far as directors go, her fate sounds more forgiving than Chris Sanders' with Bolt, who in addition to leaving Disney altogether, had any evidence of his involvement erased from the final film.

Thanks as always Sotiris. I love that. I love the song, I love the fact that no animated movie is EVER advertised in that manner (ala no sound effects and song like that)... I can't wait to hear the full soundtrack.

Do you think that is Merida singing or no?

If that is her singing that's at least one Disney Princess tradition they're keeping. lol

Not only is it her keeping it in the tradition of a princess singing but its in Celtic which makes it even more awesome.I wonder if they did this movie as a reasearch report on Scotland I think they would get at least a between a B+ and an A.

No problem!

Does anyone know if it is an original song written for the movie or is it a pre-existing one they just used for the TV ad? Has anyone identified the singer yet?

Am I the only one who didn't liked the song? I don't want to offend you guys, but I thought the melody was dull, unispired and inspid.

:? It sounded beautiful, and actually authentic to the location/time period. I actually almost did a jig that they didn't use a pop or broadway style song for this ad. Knowing Disney, I'm sure there will be one or two with something more modern added to it. Kind of like the first trailer for Brave was mystical and serious, and the second focused on the comedy more.

If I remember correctly, Pixar is responsible for the marketing of their own films since they where unhappy with Disneys marketing concerning Ratatouille. Could be wrong, though- It's just something I believe I read somewhere a while ago.

Sorry, but I just didn't like what I heard.

However, I enjoyed seeing the new clips and I'm surpised that Disney/Pixar had a TV teaser for the new trailer online.

Why were Pixar unhappy with Disney's marketing of Ratatouille?

^Thanks Sotiris.

Thats Just beautiful. Loving all of the advertisements for this film so far. Each new one is getting me even more excited, which I think should be happening. Props to whoever makes these decisions for being so… brave with their advertising style (hah, i had to). So glad it isn't like Tangled's advertising. Some of those made me cringe. But ahh.. the Brave ones. So magical. I can't wait. And hopefully this advertising strategy is effective on the rest of the market, too, so we can get more movies like this. I'm a sucker for fantasy films like this.

You're welcome!

I found the song that plays in the TV spot. I knew it wasn't an original song. It's called "Tha Mo Ghaol Air Aird A' Chuain" and it's by Julie Fowlis.

Here it is in its entirety:

Some people on Tumblr said that Merida looks a bit like Coraline. What do you think?

lol, eh, no?

There is really nothing on Merida which does lool like on Coraline. Different eyes, different mouth, different nose, different head shape, different hairs, different eyebrows. It's all totally different imho.
