I like Emma's singing. Even though it's autotuned. And I love the new poster. I love when they fit a whole bunch of characters and scenes into a piece of art for a movie. Gives you a lot to look at. It tells a story. Represents the film very well.

That's right. A low-quality snippet of the soundtrack version of the song was leaked and it sounds quite different from the Golden Globes TV spot.

Oh, yeah!!! That's more like it. It sounds so much better with a full orchestra accompanying it :)

If it's not baroque, don't fix it.

John Legend and Ariana Grande have been confirmed to perform the end credits song and it's a new version of "Beauty and the Beast", not a version of "Our Song Lives On" as I said on my previous post.
Said Fair (producer of the song): “Stepping into the shoes of an Oscar- and Grammy Award-winning classic is not small potatoes. But with today’s two greatest singers – John Legend and Ariana Grande – we are bringing the song back with a new school/old school fresh treatment that shows the soulfulness and power of what a great melody and lyric can inspire.”

Video director Dave Meyers will direct the new recording’s official music video.

It turns out that "leaked" snippet was a fan-edit.

When it says 'Belle - Celebration' ... is that her wedding dress? Or is it a different one from the preview images ?

Well, it's her end-of-the-movie dress. It's not a wedding dress because they don't actually show them getting married. That's why on various merch it's referred to as her "celebration" dress.

Emma looks gorgeous in it. Looks designed specifically for her.

I wish Disney would show us a bit more of the things that set this film apart from the animated feature. New plotlines, scenes or new music. So far most of the stuff that's been shown is too familar.

Speaking of the music, maybe someone can correct me here, but from what I've counted out of articles there will be a whopping 14 songs in the film (including reprises):

1. Prologue - untitled/unknown Audra McDonald song
2. Belle
3. Belle (reprise)
4. Our Song Lives On - Maurice
5. Our Song Lives On - Belle reprise
6. Gaston
7. Gaston (reprise)
8. Be Our Guest
9. Days in the Sun
10. Something There
11. Beauty and the Beast
12. For Evermore
13. The Mob Song
14. Beauty and the Beast (finale/reprise)

That would make it one of the most fully realized live-action Disney musicals in recent memory, blowing away Enchated and The Muppets. In fact of their live action fare I think only Mary Poppins had more songs, with 16.

If it's going to be as wildly successful as it will likely be, I hope this opens the door to more live action musicals. Perhaps even some more songs in that Enchanted sequel.
