Sometimes I wonder what the obsessive Disney fan would be like, if they were Woody Allen fans. The only thing known about his movies for months are the filming locations and actors. The trailer and plot summary aren't revealed until about a month before the release date. Can you imagine if Disney took that approach to marketing?

The Frozen fandom on tumblr has gone cuckoo for cocoa puffs.

This morning my dash had maybe 30 images with Hans' face Photoshopped on to random things. And now there's a "Late Night With Hans" meme going about and...

It's a very interesting coping mechanism to last week's spoilers, to say the least.
I saw that last night. It is a coping mechanism. It's ok that you enjoy it.It's better than the possible fanfictions. :P
Btw, did you notice that Hans has Anna's face in his mug in the "Late Night with Hans" meme?

wouldnt it be funny if Hans ends up the most popular character in the film?
is there a Disney animated film where the villain ended up the most popular character? I think 101 Dalmatians is really the only one...maybe Hercules...

Maleficent
Cruella DeVil

And Hercules doesn't count. Meg is more popular than Hades. I think.

yeah I thought about that after. I think they are kind of tied(Meg & Hades) but they did use Hades alot in the tv series while Meg only appeared in 2 episodes(which ticked me off so much!) :x

I would say Captain Hook is the most popular character from Peter Pan. And Scar from The Lion King. I was going to say Jafar but I remembered the Genie :3

I would also throw in Cinderella, The Hunchback of Notre Dame (EDIT: Forgot Clopin has his own underground fandom), and The Emperor's New Groove (although Kronk could be more popular than Yzma, I guess?).

Yeah, that's not always necessary. That said, there is good fanfiction out there, but that's just my opinion. And the really crazy ones have their own kind of entertainment.

Question: Do you already have a date for the #Disney #Frozen trailer? (seriously can't wait!!)
Jennifer Lee: Sorry, I don't have any info. We're in last three weeks of production. Busy. Busy. :-)

We will probably get one in a couple of weeks, shortly before Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (the next big family movie) comes out.

Olaf is hosting the DisneyLand Paris Christmas Dreams nighttime show ... presume it will be the same / similar as World of Colour ?

Also, the 'Dreams of Romance' float has been removed to be reworked in a Frozen theme as well. Currently, I think the Princesses are walking instead in the parade.

Someone from Tumblr pointed this out. Since the retail for Frozen will be out soon, we will hear the singing dolls soon. Including Anna and Elsa’s duet and Anna singing :o

Let's see how long it will take until Disney will pull footage of the dolls, working. :P

Speaking of the dolls, Amazon has released images of the singing Anna and Elsa dolls, as well as another Anna doll from Mattel. They are currently available for pre-order.

I miss the 90's Mattel Disney dolls. Their Disney dolls today are such cheap garbage.

I'm beginning to get nervous about this movie's box office performance. I'm a college senior, and I have boatloads of friends who aren't Disney fanatics, but love the movies and will go see anything released with the Disney name on it. I've brought this movie up a few times in crowds and no one knows it exists. Not even when I mention the trailer with Olaf and Sven.

I feel the lack of a real trailer is going to hurt this film. We're two months out, and as Americans, we've seen nothing. I'm worried we're going to see another Turbo. That film got decent reviews, but it didn't release a trailer until two months before its release, and ultimately it flopped at the box office. I can guarantee it would have done better had it advertised many months in advance. That's not to say that it wasn't a cliche story, which it was. Audiences can sense when something isn't original or a rehash. Either way, the lack of promotion is really worrying me.

I'm not worried as I don't think it had much to do with a lack of advertizing. Turbo stars a snail. :p I doubt more extensive advertizing would have drawn more people to it.

Off tangent, but I think the reason "Turbo" bombed was because it was incredibly generic. I had to sit through it when I was working part time at a summer camp, and I felt nothing for the movie. Firstly, Turbo was reminiscent of Remy from Ratatouille (they both had nearly impossible dreams, both had human idols, both had an unsupportive brother, etc). Secondly, the whole "big race that revives a dead part of town" was taken from Cars. Thirdly, none of the characters had development. Those other snails that can be seen in the trailer? Barely in the film aside from filler. Turbo himself start whining about how he wants to go fast... and then he becomes fast. No hard work, no suffering, no lessons to learn. Even the bad guy was obvious and didn't really have build up. "Turbo" wasn't horrible, mind you, but I understand why people weren't rushing to see this movie.

Now, I think what may hurt overall box office earnings for "Frozen" is if there are any mega-blockbuster hits being released in close proximity. But even then, Frozen will have 3-D ticket sales to add to the overall box office. Plus it's coming after Tangled and Wreck-it Ralph (which Disney will market as such), which will drawn in an audience that know Disney will deliver.

I am hoping Disney will be honest in their marketing for "Frozen". You know, mention the songs, princesses, and magic. But I have a feeling they won't.
