Now, I'm really glad I didn't go tonight, I would have no chance in that crowd.
I wouldn't read too much into the Zac picture. Both shots were taken from the exact same spot, and with no tripod. I'm sure the perspective on the closeup is a bit bent to say the least, so Mandy is probably safe. Unfortunately the picture where they were both smiling and posing was quite a bit blurrier, as were many of the shots I tried to take with my relatively inexpensive camera. At that distance, I'm amazed that any of the closeups came out at all.

The crowd you see is actually photographers and reporters, sandwiched between two barricades right in the middle of Hollywood Blvd. Yes, the carpet is in the road.

The general public was corralled in two small areas on the sidewalk - one of which is to the left of the theater entrance in front of the Disney Soda Fountain (barely visible in the photo), and the other is way down on the other end of the carpet where the limos were pulling up. Everybody else had to stake out spots across the street, with two lanes of traffic in between, but there were plenty of excellent vantage points both on street level and in the multi-level Hollywood and Highland shopping center. It wasn't crowded unless you were going for the autographs over by the limos.

@mawnck: Did you take any more photos of the premiere? If so, could you post all of them? :P

So does anyone know if the soundtrack is going to be up at midnight on either amazon.com or itunes? I haven't really ever waited up to find out on an album. I'm probably going to get the MP3 album on amazon.

The Box Office Magazine review is the most spoilery, for those who are concerned; but it also pays attention to parallels between Flynn and Rapunzel, which I love.

They are indeed ... loud.

I guess they are just very excited to see Mandy and Zachary. If they keep screaming they might penetrate the forum walls and result in almost certain chaos.[/quote]

Could anyone send me the mp3 with the soundtracksamples from the official Tangled site? I just love the second reprise of When will my life begin. I wonder if she is singing that part, because i thought she wouldn't sing the whole song, but you just saw a montage fitted to the lyrics?

Hey peeps, I had an amazing time at the red carpet premiere last night!!! I'm extremely tired..... exhausted actually.... but it was amazing!!! Since someone pretty much summed it up already, I'll just add more own experiences and corrections.

I wore my Flynn costume! My boyfriend was Pascal, my friends Traci and Brianna were Rapunzel and Mother Gothel! :) We got mobbed by fellow Disney fans (and random scary people) upon arrival in the red carpet fan area. Mandy Moore signed my CD and got excited when she saw all of us!

Best part of the night.... I met Zachary Levi!!! We took a group photo with him also!!! (I'll post pic later, when I'm more awake ) He didn't really want to do the smolder in the pic.... Oh well. He signed my coloring book. We also met the directors! They talked with us for quite a bit and were somewhat dumbfounded that we made costumes of the characters already. They were so nice and we took a group photo also :)

mawnck wrote: On the outskirts, some enterprising street performers had taken the initiative to dress as Rapunzel, Flynn, Gothel and (a very tall) Pascal. Flynn and Gothel looked pretty good from a distance. Pascal was just plain sad, and Rapunzel, for some reason, appeared to be wearing a dress made entirely of her hair. They were quickly escorted far enough away from the event to avoid confusing people. The Disney-approved Rapunzel and Flynn held court down at the far end of the carpet, taking photos with the celebrities as they arrived.

   We're not street performers, just cosplayers. Well, technically we all do "perform".... :P All these costume (except for mine) were made in 2 days and not quite finished. Pascal was going to be wearing a dress, but instead he went furry style. We were NOT escorted away from the event by anyone! What gave you that idea? In fact, no one from Disney said anything to us. Most of them got excited and some of the employees were telling us the best places to wait. We were right by the red carpet arrival area for most of the night. :D

I'm so excited for this movie it's unreal! Love how gorgoeus Rpaunzel's hair is, I'm wondering whether anyone can tell me whether it gets cut at the end of the film like in the original fairytale? Then again do I want to know, is it a major part of the story? If so I'd rather wait to see the movie, which will be in January unfortunately I hate UK release dates! The Princess and the Frog didn't hit cinemas over here till February!
I love The Little Mermaid and Ariel

I can tell you the hair part, but i'll spoiler it:
it gets cut, and it turns brown. It's a pretty big part because that's also the end of Mother Gothel

Marisol wrote:I've been watching all the videos today and I just don't like Mandy's voice for Rapunzel. Which is making me very disappointed.

I read that negative review posted above and the author make mention of the movie being geared towards "the Hannah Montana crowd". Mandy's voice really makes me think this is true. I really don't like how "pop tween-teenager" she sounds.

Why doesn't Disney get new unknown people for voices?
They did that with PatF, remember? No one knew the actors which was probably another reason why it didn't do so well at box office.

Whenever I mention that Mandy Moore is in Tangled, a ton of people just look up and go "I LOVE her, need to see this movie now."

Also, remember, Tangled isn't marketed just to us "hard core Disney fans," they need to market to everyone else too. Plus, I rather see Tangled shirts everywhere than Hannah Montana.

And, I think Mandy's voice is perfect, it sounds very sweet and naive, just like Rapunzel.
I just don't like her voice for Rapunzel. She would be perfect for someone more modern. But at least they picked Mandy and not Miley Cyrus. I do understand that celebrity voices are a draw, but I still prefer animated movies to find new voices. Especially for a princess. I think PatF just wasn't good enough, and even if they had a celebrity voice the movie still wouldn't have been that great. Tangled, on the other hand, seems to have a much better plot line. I really love what they did with the story of Rapunzel and that is saying a lot seeing that it has always been my favorite fairy tale. I also love the music more from what I have heard. The songs stick in my head and I want to sing them. PatF songs did not have that effect on me.

Oh, and I should also say I prefer Moore to Chenoweth. I loved Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda and she has a beautiful singing voice, but she has a very unique speaking voice which is hard to take in something serious.

So at least they found someone with a more sweet young lady sound even if Mandy does sound a little too modern at times.[/u]
