Tangled
DisneyDude, the wooden beam is still there in the second shot, it is just fainter. Maybe they did edit how much light is on it, as you can see the painting to Rapunzel's right (our left) also has a more blue color to it. But the trailers could just have differing lighting, too.
Spitsweet, I agree with you, on all that (except I did also hear from one of the Tangled book's illustrators here that they did change it partly because Tiana was green), but I still can't help but that that they, and hope that they, put a little more thought into their choices, and why they make things the way they do. So I still think the green dress was supposed to be for the flower/lettuce, and now maybe it's purple because of Mother Gothel, and Rapunzel just likes that color. I know I do!

I showed my 9-year-old brother both trailers today to observe his reaction to the Flynn approach Disney's taking.
So I start new trailer 1 and the first thing he asks is, "Who's that?" regarding Flynn. I told him to watch the trailer to find out. We continue to the end and he STILL didn't know who Flynn was! I was like, how many times did they have to say his name for you to remember it?!
He definitely was more interested in Rapunzel. What was most surprising was that after the trailer he said, "So, her hair is MAGIC?! That's cool."
Then I showed the new trailer 2, but he was getting bored and didn't have any comments after that. I'm still not sure if all this Flynn-action hype is having any affect on boy movie goers.

THANK YOU very, very, very much sotiris. You have gone to such great lengths to deliver us a really rare treat and you are ever so kind and good at doing this for us.
How did you upload them? Unless you can't tell us.
And...does it say, on the books, or the music devices, that these songs are from the film, from Alan Menken?
Because...accept for possibly the first one with the musical hairbrush...I would venture to say that they just have given children a bunch of generic songs to keep them entertained for a bit. I mean, 20 songs, really? What, are there 20 seperate scores for 20 specific scenes or moments in the film? Most CDs only have 13 or a few more tracks, don't they?
Now, I know that it is the instruments that may make it all sound so bland, but, I still would think we would hear something better.
Remember the musical hairbrush in stores that played some of the song "When Will My Life Begin"? That had pretty generic instruments, too, but sounded like a much more exciting, well-crafted song. For some reason the songs of the musical hairbrush for your storybook also sounded way better.
However, out of all of them I did like number 12! And maybe kind of number 1. But...I do not think even these could be Alan Menken numbers.

in the scene from both of the trailers,
Viking: go, live your dream.
Flynn: I will.
Viking: Your dream stinks, I was talking to her.
Has anyone noticed that Rapunzel had a slightly different reaction in the first trailer (well it depends on you which the first one is
)?

I recorded them using my computer microphone and then I've uploaded them on youtube.
Yes, the tunes are from the film. It says so on the second book with the music player. They are not full tracks that would correspond to a CD but just snippets from the score and the songs. On the cover of the book, it says that the player includes the Disney hit "I See the Light". Disney has already predicted that this song is gonna be a "hit".
Also, in the storybook on each page that depicts a specific scene from the movie, it indicates that the user should play a specific tune from the player. e.g. in a scene where Flynn is climbing the tower, the instructions underneath say to play tune #5 and so forth. Therefore, each tune matches a particular scene from the movie.
Disney Duster, I didn't know the detail about Tiana... so I guess they actually THOUGHT about the different colours for each princess... It always bothered me that Aurora was Pink in the publicity, when she spends the whole movie wearing a blue dress...Also that didn't stop them from marketing Jasmine in turquoise when Cinderella's ''colour'' was already blue... Whatever !
As for Mother Gothel, I don't see her dress as purple but red... Now that I think of it, it reminds me of Gone with the Wind's Scarlett O'Hara's red robe when she tries to seduce a drunk Rhett Butler... I think they choose red for Gothel because this colour is associated with passion, lust and erotism.

In the new domestic trailer, we see toddler Rapunzel with her parents...so Gothel didn't take her when she was a baby? Or she was born with long hair?
Do you know how many times I laughed during those 2 trailers???!!!??? And, my favorite, the smolder...it was reframed!
And sotiris2006, thanks for uploading the songs!!! I like what I'm hearing...

I hated both trailers but like certain parts of them. Being a video tinkerer, I decided to mash them up and add pieces from the other trailers. The audio isn't completely finished and the aspect ratio got mixed up during conversion, but here's a little more of what I was hoping for when I heard we were getting a new trailer. If I get the time, I'll do a final edit.

Well thank you even further sotiris, your very kind to do all this for us. I think I like number 2, too. And...I really need to hear the rest with the right instruments! But this was a very interesting look, er, listen...
spitsweet, just so you know, Cinderella's dress is silver in light, it only looks blue in dark shadow and possibly because there's blue things in the movie but I can see why they can't do silver, still it could be blue silver but anyway...I like Aurora's dress pink because I think she would like it and I see blue as kind of her sleep color...
As for Gothel's dress, yes it leans more towards red, but it is not the reddest red it can be, it is slightly purple. It is purplish red. I see it just like Rapunzel's dress, which I see as pinkish purple.
Also, even though I agree with you Mother Gothel's dress is red for her sexy passionate character who cares about beauty, red has also strongly been associated with all Disney villains, and is used largely on a villain she is extremely like, Lady Tremaine from Cinderella.

Interesting how you used Edward Scissorhands music 'cause when I heard they were depicting Rapunzel as an artist, it made me think of that story.
I mean think about it, they both have something unique about them (one's got scissors, the other one has long hair) they both live alone in towers, and they both have a certain air of creativity.

I had the same Idea as nomad2010
I took all the footage, music, sound bites I cold find from the movie and made a trailer along the lines of something we all want. Hope you like it!

That is an awesome trailer, Skyler888! Why couldn't the advertising crew make a trailer that beautiful for the movie?
I noticed you used the lovely score 'This is Gonna Be Good' from The Princess and the Frog. (0:48 - 0:55 then at 1:06 - 1:54).
The trailer from Flynn's POV not having a trailer from Rapunzel's POV to go with it is awkward.
