Same, only with Smallville: The Complete First Season. So far it's turning out to be a great show!

I'm going to finish Transformers Season 3 part 2 and Season 4 on Monday. What I do is I go through the whole series one episode at a time, it's a lot of fun and today I just watched "The Rebirth pt. 1". Tuesday I start Beast Wars 8)

I'm also working my way through SpongeBob SquarePants Season 1, and then I've got Season 2 of it too! :D
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

Xena: Season 1

Not a particularly memorable Season but: since it was the most expensive of the sets ($90) and I wanted to see how the series progressed, I decided to watch it.

... and found out several things:

1. in the episode where they find a baby in a river, when Xena sees the baby she feels almost disgusted by him; as if she didn't care for babies at all.... something that of course wasn't true given the fact that she had a child.

2. in Season 2's opening ORPHAN OF WAR it is said that the person that killed Borias (Xena's lover) was the now centaur Ixion... when in fact in the Fourth Season we know that it was one of Xena's female servants.

.... I kind of like better how Xena was portrayed in the first episodes, as she was more enigmatic, serious and strong.

..... funny thing how they could make such a terrible mistake with Borias' murderer but they didn't miss the fact that in the flashback were we see Xena giving Solan to the centaurs, she has a broken leg... and later on in the Fourth Season we see her the exact same way. :?

... the most cheesies fight scene: when she's spinning inside a circle of enemies and punching them while she does that. That is way too much.

Or perhaps, Xena's disgust at the baby is her own disgust projected onto the baby - as it reminds her that she gave up her child (for the right reasons), possibly never to see him again, and she doesn't like being reminded of this fact.

That said, Series 1 was very hit and miss. Nothing wrong with that, the show was finding its feet.

Random plea: Where's Joan of Arcadia S2?
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Yeah I noticed that! Also notice how the ironically the episode is called Cradle of Hope which later takes on a whole different meaning. Also notice how Gabrielle says she can't understand how a mother could send her child down a river and abandon him. The foreshadowing is quite spine-chilling.

Actually, they were accurate. Catrina set the event, but it was inded Xena's handy side-kick (forgot his name) that killed Borias. In Orphan of War Xena has yet to find out about her servant's back-stabbing plan so the only thing she knows of is what she saw, which was indeed that guy that killed Borias.

I finished seeing all seasons of Smallville available on DVD.
The Complete Season 2: It took all the trademarks of Season 1, and elaborated those ideas and foundations into something much more complex and interesting. The 'freaks of the week' now compliment the overall theme of the episode, and don't slow down the overall arc story. Clark also finds out about his origin, which is new ground for me, since I know nothing about Superman other than his abilities. My favourite episode of the season is probably Exodus, for it's heart-breaking nature, and with Rosetta following closely. Christopher Reeve passes on the cape in one of the best episodes in Smallville history.

The Complete Season 3: The darkest season yet, and my favourite one aswell. Starting off with a bang, in the episodes Exile and Phoenix we see how much the characters have evolved and darkened since the beginning, with Chloe being the most surprising change of them all. I was disappointed with only a couple of episodes. One of them is Velocity, where Pete decides to participate in Kryptonite races. Some highlights for me were:
Shattered / Asylum - Lex is off the rails. Has his father set him up, or is he truely out of his mind?
Exile / Phoenix - Clark is uncontrolable, Lana devestated, and the Kents are at their darkest moments. Very moving episodes.
Memoria - We are given a look into Lex's depressed memories of childhood. We also see one very interesting memory of Clark's.

The Complete Season 4: We start off with a bang, and head into a different kind of season. The darkness has lightened a bit, but not by much. Lana is tied to a 17th century witch named Isabel (a story that I'm actually fond of), Chloe finds out a secret, Clark gets a glimpse of a fututre hero known as The Flash. Kal-El makes first flight, and no less but to Lex's jet!! And in the finale a meteor shower hits Smallville once again, and as Chloe puts it: It's too much of a coincidence. Lightening never strikes in the same place twice. Why is the meteor sent on Smallville again? I'll have to wait for the season 5 set to find out.

My ranking of Smallville:
  • 1. Season 3
    2. Season 2 (by a hair)
    3. Season 4 (again by a hair)
    4. Season 1

Just completed watching Firefly-The Complete Series. Ever since seeing the movie "Serenity" I have wanted to see this series and Sci-Fi Channel butchers it up pretty badly. One day I was cruising the used DVD stores here in Wichita, and found this on the shelf for only $19.99 and had to have it. One of the best sci-fi series of its genre. Joss Whedon is a genius. Combining both a modern western with inter-galactical adventures is pure entertainment. I sure wish Fox had given this series a better chance.
