If not I can always give you a link so you can have a little taste.singerguy04 wrote:I'm not sure if Mariah will be able to surpass The Beatles's record with E=MC2, but she's not going to be done after this album. I can definitely see her at least tying!!! I'm so excited about this album!!!!!!

This CD is SOOOO good. My favorite tracks are:Cruise Control, I'll Be Lovin You Long Time, For The Record (this song is FIRE!!!), Bye Bye, and I'm That Chick. I like all the songs really, the only exception is the song O.O.C. (just seems out of place for this album, it sounds too "Rainbow") Anyway, I can't wait to legally buy it on the 15th!!!
An interesting factoid about For The Record: The song includes phrases and titles of Mariahs other songs but it's subtle and non-fans would never notice, it's awesome. It includes references to Can't Let Go, Always Be My Baby, My All, Honey, Underneath the Stars, and more!!!!
Such an exciting time in Mariah history!!!

No, I haven't. I'm going to buy it in store in case there are any freebies or something. Plus I wouldn't have the fortitude to wait until the delivery truck came.

2. I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time
3. Cruise Control

9. Love Story
10. Touch My Body
11. I Wish You Well
12. Side Effects

The part in Cruise Control I really like is when she dons the accent, it sounds great with her voice, it's almost over-the-top but not quite.
Anyway your top songs are pretty much in line with mine. I suspect that Bye Bye will move up on your list with Bye Bye being her second single. I love the part where she sings "I never knew I could hurt like this" that line makes that song...the way she sings it is hot.
For The Record seems to be most everyones favorite on the album. Hopefully it will be a single. It's a different sound for her but it is still classic Mariah, If that makes sense.
7 days till E=ManCipation^2 by Mariah Carey!!! Can't Wait!!!!!

I pre-ordered the Deluxe edition of E=MC² and it came today (Saturday the 12th). I didn't expect it to come until monday (April 14th) the official day of release here in the UK. Here are some pictures of my new cd:
(Sorry about the flash, the cd is quite shiny therefore the light reflects off of it)
Here's the back cover, you can see that "Heat" is included which I did not expect. I thought it was only available on the Japanese edition and itunes (so that was a nice surprise)

Here's the cover

This is the right inside page when you open up the CD

This is both the left and right inside pages when you open up the cd

When you open up the right page it opens out to a three page spread. The middle and the right page have the following picture and the left has the album tracks printed on it (which you can see in the picture prior to this one)

Here's the CD

and finally, this is the poster. I haven't folded it out because it's too big but it has a picture on one side and all the lyrics on the other.

I can't find the ipod skin though.....I don't know if it's hidden in one of the wallets or if I just didn't get one
I might still buy the standard version though because I really was looking forward to the picture booklet, however, with the deluxe it's replaced with just a poster. I was actually expecting both a picture booklet and then an additional poster but you don't. Overall I'm really happy with my new CD and am delighted that it came today. I'm just a tad disappointed about the ipod skin and the picture booklet but the standard version will sort that.

Congrats on it early arrival, the photos are great!!! I can't wait for this to come out. I hope the standard version has a plastic case, I want my other MC CD's to match. The packaging doesn't REALLY matter but I would like some continuity in that aspect. I have been loving the songs and have added Love Story and Side Effects to my faves, only Last Kiss and O.O.C. remain unliked, and it kills me to say that b/c MC's favorite song on the album is Last Kiss. This album is, as Mariah says, "a stone groove smash hit wonder"!!!
Thanks for scanning those pictures and putting them up, I appreciate it!!!

Oh by the way, I forgot to ask, have you heard the bonus tracks "Heat" and "4real4real" yet? If not I could give you a link if you like.

I actually have heard those two and I have to say 4real4real is my fave of the two. Heat is kind of a mess. and I'm so glad to see that the case is plastic. It wouldn't have been too big a deal but it's a relief. Thanks for the link of the CD.
I read MariahDaily.com and found out THE coolest thing ever. On April 25-27, 2008, the Empire State Building will be changing its lights to purple, pink, and white, in honor of Mariah's new CD. Cool, huh? I could be wrong, but I don't think they've done that except for holidays.

Yeah, what they'll do for you when you are paying through the nose to have a hit album.MutantEnemy wrote:I read MariahDaily.com and found out THE coolest thing ever. I'm not a Mariah Carey fan, anymore. I was back when she first came out, and I thought she was wonderful, up until she had her "breakdown". After that, her music hasn't really impressed me. However, I do like three songs from her last album. "We Belong Together", "Shake It Off", and, "Don't Forget About Us" were decent. So far, I haven't liked what I've heard from this new album. It's just not the type of music I was hoping to hear her make.

How is the CD held in that deluxe edition? Is it in some kind of tray inside the case or is it in one of those stupid pockets? I HATE the pockets, personally. Celine Dion's latest CD comes like that, and it's so annoying. You have to touch the underside of the CD to pull it out, you have to nearly rip the damned thing apart to get it out, and you risk scratching up your CD.

I'm glad you've heard the tracks, I personally like them both actually. A lot of fans don't seem to like "heat" though, I guess I can kind of see why but nevertheless I still like it. I also heard about the Empire State Building, that does sound cool can't wait to see the pictures. I always try and keep myself updated by visiting Mariah Daily, it's very good for news on all things MimiMutantEnemy wrote:I actually have heard those two and I have to say 4real4real is my fave of the two. That's fair enough. Don't you just hate it when Mariah and Madonna fans fuel rivalry between the two of them? I really don't see the point of starting an unnecessary war between them both, I respect both artist for who they are, what they do and what they have accomplished. I definitely prefer Madonna's earlier music though, I really love The Immaculate Collection. I did however buy the Confessions On A Dancefloor album which is more recent but on the whole I don't really like her later work. "Music" and "American Life" really didn't do it for me and if "Hard Candy" is anything like "4 minutes" than I'll be giving that a miss too. I'm gonna give it a chance and I'll most certainly listen to the album first before totally ruling it out. Hopefully the album is better then I expect and overrides the sour taste "4 minutes" has left me with.MadonnasManOne wrote:Yeah, what they'll do for you when you are paying through the nose to have a hit album.MutantEnemy wrote:I read MariahDaily.com and found out THE coolest thing ever. I would like to see more packaging like that Universal is doing for the 20th Century Masters CDs, except I still want physical liner notes too. At least there's a tray to hold the CD. But that way it's STILL more environmentally friendly than jewel cases, but nowhere near as annoying as those damn pockets.
Although I will say, a very thin coat of plastic on the tray portion would be nice, just to keep it from disintegrating too soon..

Hello, Fellow MC Fans!!!!
Well the CD is finally here, it's getting rave reviews and according to IDJ records her first day total was 154,000 copies, which is phenomenal in an ailing recording industry. They are saying that up to 600k is a possibility when accounting for Oprah and American Idol. MC fans are awesome b/c we will do anything to ensure her success, which is more than other artists fans can say!!! Request "Bye Bye" at radio, and buy the single from iTunes and Amazon!!! MC FANS UNITE!!!

Madonna fans are just as fierce, and we are going to do anything to ensure her success, as well! April 29th, baby! Really, though, I'm not saying this as any sort of rivalry. I'm just saying that Madonna fans will do anything for our gal, too!
At any rate, to keep this on topic, I will say that I do like the song "I Wish You Well". That's the old Mariah that I miss. I really want her to return to those days. I think I've figured out what it is about most of the songs on this album that isn't allowing me to like them. Mostly, I just can't understand what she's saying. They have layered her voice on top of itself, so much during most of the songs, that I just can't hear what she's singing. She also gets going pretty fast during some of the songs, and that makes it even harder to understand her. I LOVE it when she just sings, and belts it out. When I can understand the words, and feel the emotion, that's the Mariah Carey I miss.

I would say us Celine Dion fans do the same, but looking at the sales of her latest album in the US, and how it'll probably only take Mariah and Madge a few weeks to surpass it...
Anyhoo, I liked some songs from E=MC2 - I Wish You Well being possibly my favorite - but I'm just not really feeling the whole thing. I definitely think The Emancipation Of Mimi was a better CD. But frankly, I don't think she'll ever top Daydream or Butterfly.
