I think I came here on a Google looking for some info on some releases (maybe the Treasures) and decided to join the forum as well :)

I was a moderator of an MSN Group for about a year, and one day I got an e-mail from one of the contributors about a site that he just discovered and he gave me the Ultimate Disney website address and I have been here ever since. I really like this place, even though I am probably twice the age of the oldest member here. But I do try to not let that get in the way.

I was surfing to find reviews about the Little Mermaid: Limited Issue dvd, and I came across Luke's review in this very site. I remember visiting that review again and again because I used to laugh really hard about Luke's sarcastic comments on the fact that the Limited Issue had no extras. I can still remember a quote; "I'd like you to meet my little friend, '0'. '0' represents nothingness.." or something like that, I don't remember. Then I found out that this site had a forum too and that's how I became a member of this site.

15 gallon 7 pint blood donor as of 1-4-11. Done donating. Apparently having Cancer makes you kind of ineligible to donate.

I think I did a search, several years ago, for Disney DVD list on Google, and found the website. I usually visited about once a month to read the latest reviews and see what new products were coming. I'd visit the message board occasonally and read various threads also but never joined until this week.

Can't take credit for those sarcastic comments, as they were made by the awesome Jack Seiley, who has sadly since denounced the Internet including this place. Like you, I got a big kick out of his reviews - sort of sad to see them get semi-"replaced" with the release of new versions and thus, more elaborate reviews.

I don't quite remember how I found ultimatedisney - but based on my first few posts it seems that I was searching for information about the classic shorts and the Treasures in particular. That was about three years ago.

Hmm... the way I discovered UD is rather interesting.

I think it must have been about 3 years ago. I wanted to see if I could find free Leonard Maltin reviews, so I went to his official site, www.leonardmaltin.com.

I found no reviews, but while I was scrolling down a page I thought I saw the word "Disney" somewhere. I scrolled up again to see if it was really there (Disney being my obsession). It was in fact mentioned.

Mr. Maltin had written something in the lines of "For all you Disney fans out there, make sure you visit www.ultimatedisney.com as it's an excellent Disney-related website", and he had a link to it. I clicked on the link and came to UD. :)

I would continue visiting UD for another 2 and a half years, regularly checking on new reviews and news.

Then, last March I noticed a link at the top of the homepage, saying "forum". I clicked it, and learnt what a forum was for the first time in my life. I was thrilled. I joined immediately and created my first thread. I was amazed to find myself communicating with so many other people around the world. The people who posted on my first ever thread, "Is Chicken Little a Benefit or a Curse to Disney?" will know what I'm talking about.

So basically, I've been here for about 3 years, and I never noticed that fricking "Forum" button until last March! If only I could have joined sooner. :(

While I was becoming more and more obsessed with Disney, I was constantly looking for more and more information on upcoming releases and what not and stumbled upon UD. I would visit this site quite frequently because I usually found the best information here. I was visiting this site for about a year before I even thought of joining the forums.

I always used to look at the forums. my favorite topic was the disney dvd collections. I was hesitant to join because I was worried about there being a fee. I finally took up my courage and joined in June.

I do not really remember how I first came across the site.

i actually fell in love with disney back in march of this year when i recieved "Lady and the Tramp PE" for my birthday from my best friend. Then, I heard him talking a few times about this disney forum he was part of. the first conversation about it was like this:
"LET ME ON LET ME ON!"
"no, megan, you'll think we're dorks."
"PLEASE?!?!"
"NO!"

needless to say i was annoyed. so... one day, when i was at his house, i knew he was on and i snuck a peak at the URL. badda bing badda boom i signed up behind his back and have been here ever since

by the way, mikey.....you were right. i DO think you all are dorks. but i LOVE dorks and i am one myself!!!!!!!! so.... im GLAD we're dorks!

i meant that in the best possible way

So... What organs have you donated so far?? I hope you still have your heart, as most people seem to need that... :P

I am around 120 pints (15 gallons + ) but I can't donate any more... :( Something about a medicine I was taking (Reglan) causing a false positive on a hepatitis test, but once you have a positive, you aren't allowed to donate.

Of course, I was doing platelets instead of whole blood, so I was able to donate much more frequently (about every 2 weeks.) Also, they were often able to get a high concentration of platelets from me, so they separated them into two units.

BTW, this was NOT at a plasma center or something where I was paid...

No organs so far (kinda attached to 'em). On my driver's license I'm listed in case I were to be in a fatal car wreck. I'll be donating pint #102 Friday. I don't do it for money either. Occasionally I'll get a shirt, plaque or Red Lobster gift card. I'd be a lot higher than 102 but I wanted to donate about a year after breaking my neck & having a spinal fusion & my doctor wouldn't allow it. I got permission about 10 years later from his partner after he retired since he said other than the paralysis I was in perfect health. I've been donating every 56 days ever since. They won't let me do platelets since I can't transfer into their chair but I can donate blood from my wc.

Well my story is much like Julian Carter's. I first started frequenting the official site, then moved to the forum as well. It started in late 2003, early 2004, just before I had started at high school. I wanted a complete list of Disney Channel TV Movies, and I searched for it on Google in a few different phrases, and I came to here after a few days of mild searching. At first I just kept checking that particular page, the page with the TV Movies listings on them. I thought that it was great that all of these movies that weren't seen on TV much or even known about, were all written about on one up to date site and so many of them had DVD releases. From there I became very interested in DVD releases of Disney products, and I kept browsing through the other pages of the site. Then I came upon the main page, and I loved how there was so much info available for new releases, and how every detail was mentioned, especially things like cover art, bonus features, and disc art, which were things that I loved, but I never realised that other people did too. By now we are at mid-late 2004, which is when I was in Yr. 7. I then came here every day, and sometimes when the front page had a link to it, I'd click on it, and venture into the forums. I hadn't registered, and had no intention of doing so. I wasn't very keen on chatting then. I didn't really like it either. Then about half a year later, in April/May of 2005, I was really frequenting the forum as a non-member, and I didn't really think that I should join, as my dad probably wouldn't want me to, and since I was so young- I was 13- I thought that I wouldn't get along with everyone. But then I asked my Dad if I could join, I joined and I've since learnt everything about forums. I've since joined about 10+ forums, and even though I don't post very much on all of them, I've learnt so much about the world of them from UltimateDisney.com. My first thread was about DVD review requests, since I really wanted to read reviews of my favourite Disney DVDs. The first person to reply was Luke, so he was my first friend. Other friends to follow that were Aaron, RJKD23, Adam (Sofa King), Alice, JiminyCrick91, and many others that I've encountered along the way. One person that was really nice was Tricia, who made me two avatars. She was really nice, I haven't heard from her in like a year and a half. Sad how people go away from forums. So yeah, that's my story. It's been a really fun experience for me, thanks for being so nice guys!

Here's a link to my first thread and post- http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/vie ... highlight= I was so young, naive, and stupid wasn't I? It's so embaressing. But then again, if it's so embaressing why did I post a link to it? I've contradicted myself.
Oh, and why isn't there post number counts anymore? You know "Post count- 648" or whatever? If there is, they aren't coming up on my computer.
