Surely though, there would be a space on the shelf to remind you where it goes! ;)

I separate my live action Disney from my Animated Disney DVD's. I keep them in alphabetical order with the animated ones being first, and the live action ones second.

my organization changes a lot.........I havea lower shelf with the animated movies so my nieces can pick a dvd out if they wanted to watch a movie at my house.......most of the live action ones are higher up, especially Pirates of the Caribbean.

I think it differs every so often.........If I have a sequel with a movie, then that goes with the original.......so, when I get Cinderella, Cinderella 2: Dreams come true will be shelved next to it, and so on.

I usally just put mine in the order that they come out which is usally the same as the order I buy them in. At the beginning of the first shelf I have the movies with slip cases or boxsets in order of coming out than the rest that are not sliep cases are in the same reagular order . :)

(My desciription skills are not the best I really need to just ge ta digital camera  Lol)

I'm boring so... alphabetical! I keep my Disney DVD sorta separated from my other DVDs (which are all in alphabetical order too).
Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.

Feature animation by Disney is chronological, the same for Pixar, but the rest is alphabetical per genre.

But in what do you store your dvd's?
I am planning on doing it myself. Because they take up so much space it is not advisable to make shelves, at least for me that is.

I just toss everything on the floor and when I want to watch a movie, I would be pretty lucky to find it again.

 I knew somebody would freak out about that. Just so you don't have a heart attack I want you to know that I was just kidd'n, I actually keep them nice and orginize. :) I don't have them in a particular order, I mean just as long as I know where there at... it's all good. 8)

Good to hear. The style really isn't important, as long as you know where to find them. I'm thinking of organizing mine either by studio or actor or director. However, my family keeps resisting the idea, saying they won't know where to find their movies. Oh well, once I move out next year I'll be able to organize my movies the way I want
Cheers!

Shucks.
I wouldn't freak out about it! I'd be emailing you wondering if you'd sell the DVDs you just toss on the floor!

But good to hear, those DVDs are fine!

I do mine by their editions. (I know its wierd) I have my live actions first. Then the animated ones. With the animated titles I put their sequels with them. Kinda like this...

Mary Poppins
Pirates of the Caribbean
Snow White
Beauty and the Beast
Lion King
Ling King 1 1/2
Lion King 2
Aladdin
Aladdin 2
Aladdin 3
Bambi

Then the Special Editions and Masterpiece Editons, gold collections and then any "no editions".

I used to have my VHS and DVDs mixed together. I since changed that. I have all my DVDs on the top shelf in alphabetical order except sequels. I have all the DVDs together Disney mixed in with non-disney. On the second shelf I have the VHS and on the bottom shelf are the ones I taped off from TV.

I put all my Disney dvds in a basket and organized them in alphabetical order. I think I am going to keep them separate from everything else because people always go through our dvd collection and they're not careful and our shelf which we have all our dvds on is very unstable if you're too rough with it. And many times our dvds crash onto the floor. If that happened to my Disneys I would rip them apart. I managed to fit most of my Disneys into the basket, but I'll be needing another basket since there are like 5 which don't fit. And plus I'll be getting more dvds in the near future.
