Actually, Disney did plan on making a Mary Poppins sequel in the 1980s with Julie Andrews returning. There would also be a new character - Barney, the ice cream man and Bert's brother, played by...wait for it...Michael Jackson. If you don't believe me, Brian Sibley posted it on his blog a while back.
But as for the concept of a villain... I don't know, I think they ought to go the route of just having a new villain. Don't turn Nancy evil, don't do anything silly with "Narissa's ghost." Just bring in a new villain.
Although, I think if Morgan were possessed by some evil spirit in Andalasia... that would be interesting.
I think Enchanted is beloved enough teh world over for a Part II, but like you guys are saying, only if Amy, James and co return !!
Do you think Amy would though ? I know there was that whole debate as to whether Disney were allowed to own her 'likeness', hence Giselle never becomgin part of the Disney Princess line-up. I wonder if she wouldnt want to maybe ?
And sorry to double post, but how good would Kristin Chenoweth be in this movie ?! She would be perfect casting ... dont care if shes animated or live action !!! Plus, she already sang 'That's How You Know' at the Oscars

Yes, Cheno for the epic win! She has such a cute little voice!
I can totally imagine her being in this movie ..... and after all, she is in Tinker Bell, and was put up for the part of Rapunzel ... so Disney obviously like her !!!

What about a "villain" from NYC going into Andalasia?
How delicious would it be if Kristin Chenoweth were a witch in Andalasia while Nancy (Idina Menzel) were the princess she became at the end!?! They would have to sing something together!
I remember hearing a plot line that had something to do with NYC being turned slowly into the animated world of Andalasia due to some spell Narissa made before her death. That could have been fan speculation from when talks of a sequel started soon after the films release, but i liked the idea a lot.

Cool World, much?
And I would prefer Cool World and Enchanted to stay as far away as possible.

And make the movie preach about anti-expansionism? I can see good and bad coming from that.

If it's going to be done, I hope it's well done and stays true to the original.
That's what Hollywood is about; marketing, financial and profiting. High School Musical and Hannah Montana are relevant examples of that (if it weren't for the financial success, Hannah Montana would've stayed on small screens where it truly belongs)
But as for "Enchanted", I don't mind a sequel. In spite of loving the original movie, I felt the third act was somewhat rushed. But as you said; as long it's well done and stays true to the original (which also means including more handdrawn-animation and Alan Menken), then I would be pleased.

Amy said it a number of interviews that she's up for a sequel. The problem is, she's pregnant. So, we'd have to wait 9 months. At least for the filming of the live action scenes...

Well...unless they work that into the plot that Giselle is going to have a baby perhaps?? That could be a either a disaster film or if done the right way. could work
And if Giselle has a baby maybe Morgan has turned bitter and becomes jealous and is the new Villain perhaps??

Though if that were the case, maybe have it take place a number of years later when she's possibly a teenager or something. No offense who played Morgan in Enchanted, but she didn't appear to have much range to play a convincing villain.
