And don't forget the later Beethoven films. Now that is very Spooky indeed. :)

She's also to star in Haunted Lighthouse (aka. R.L. Stine's Haunted Lighthouse), another spooky film (which is a Joe Dante film, so I'm sure that will be fantastic too - I worship Dante!).

Actualy my second favorite movie is one that Dante did (gremlins 2)
in one word fabolous!!

Anyway after just reading all of your stories (never knew what this topic was about before)
I guess i could have just looked

Anyway here i go
My name is Marc and this year i turned 19 again (for the ninth time :D )
and i work as a salesperson in a cd/dvd/games shop
almost 4 years now
The first disney movie i saw in theaters was Oliver & Co
And i Started collecting all the videotapes in the 90's
(all imported from the uk because i wanted them all in their original version), only dvd's i got at first were lady and the tramp and mulan because those were the only titles i did not get on their videorelease
I guess with the release of the platinum and special editions my disney interest sparkled again
but still i'm very carefull about buying 1 disc editions
My favorite is the emperor's new groove followed by poppins and aladdin.
Other interests of mine are
Erik Von Detten (He is actualy kind of a disney regulair , as he did the voice of the evil neigbor in "Toy story" and he did voices in "Hercules" and "Tarzan" ,further more he stared in 2 disney tv movies : "escape to witch mountain" and "Brink!" (of wich i got my screenname) and the disney channel show "so weird" and even disney's movie "the princess diaries" :o ),
steven spielberg (Raiders of the lost ark , the first indiana jones movie , is my all time favorite film), Fleetwood mac (i have ticket to see em in newcastle for the first time in November so i'm very exited about that ),
james bond, julie andrews Madonna and Star Trek. :brick:

well that is my AA meeting contribution for now rotfl

Greetings Brink!

My name is Jack. But my friends call me Jack. :D

The first Disney movie I can remember seeing is the Little Mermaid. I saw it in theaters, and recall how much Ursela scared me when she got huge at the climax of the film. I also remember seeing it on video and pleading with my mother to get it. That was the first Disney film I owned.

I remember then seeing The Rescuers Down Under, The Great Mouse Detective, and Oliver & Company, which I all loved. I didn't see Aladdin till it came on video, strangely. I can hardly remember it, but can't wait for the DVD. I saw Beauty and the Beast several times in theaters, antaped the hour-long making-of off Disney channel (thats when it was still quality) and watched it many, many times.

The Lion King was the first movie I was HEAVILY into. I must have seen it 10 times in theaters, collected all of the toys, bought the magizines, hung posters in my room, and rushed to get the video and watched it many, many times. I can't wait to revisit it on DVD.

I started to watch the very early Disney films then, like Snow White, Pinnochio, and others, and got most of them on video. I used to stay up late to watch the Vault Disney shows on Disney channel, and I remember really looking up to Walt on his old TV shows.

After that, I started to become disallusioned with Disney. Mulan, Hercules, Tarzan, and others I found to be dissapointing and didn't like them nearly as much as the earlier ones. I got really into Star Wars around that time, and my love for Disney wore off.

But ever since the releases of the classics on DVD, I feel like a little kid again. I'm as into them as I was before and am doing my best to collect all the animated films I love. I'm back where I was in the early 90s. :D

Being into both Star Wars and Disney can be a very good thing, especially during the Disney/Star Wars Weekends at MGM in Walt Disneyworld.

I just registered today. My name is Steven. I'm 18 years old and I live in the lovely San Francisco Bay Area in California, USA. I'm currently a senior in high school and plan to go on to college after I graduate. I love graphic and web design and I plan to major in that field (See some of my work here http://www.goodlikethat.com.. *Shameless plug*). Other things I'm interested in are: singing and music, film, and some sports.

My love of Disney began in 1989 when I saw "The Little Mermaid". It was my first time seeing a film in a movie theater. I was only 5 but I still remember it. :) Like any kid I enjoyed Disney movies because they were fun, but as I grew older I started appreciating the films in a different light. More as art than just entertainment.

Even though I love all of the Disney animated films, I'm a bit partial to Pe-Sleeping Beauty and Post-Mermaid Films (excluding their most recent efforts.. blech). I just love the clean style of animations both of these eras had. I try to get all the films when they come out, but I'm kind of a DVD snob. I like lots of extras lol. So my Disney DVD collection is kind of short. I'm glad they're getting better at that though.

So there's my Story. Hope to make some friends on here! TTYL.

Some of you have seen me around here for a little while, and I've read through most of the "My Disney Story" posts, but I have been a slacker in posting myself. Anyway, here goes...

My name is Catherine, Cat to everyone pretty much but my family. My mom always hated when people shortened my name. I'm 25 and I'm from the great state of North Carolina. I'm married with no kids yet, that's a few years down the road. We just got married in May :)

I've always been a big fan of anything that had to do with Disney. When I was a baby I had a Pooh mobile over my crib. I had a Pooh bear I carried everywhere. The first movie I ever went to see was Bambi. It was re-released when I was 4 or so. Each time one of the old classics was released again to theaters, my dad would make sure I got to the theater to see them. I feel lucky that I was able to see those on the big screen. I don't know if we will ever have that opportunity again.

I grew up with the Disney Channel of the 80's and boy do I miss it. I miss the Mickey and Donald cartoons, and all of the wonderful movies they would show on it. This time would mark the beginning of my real obsession with Disney animation and film classics in general.

I never had any Disney VHS tapes until my parents purchased The Little Mermaid for me for Christmas one year. Each year at Christmas (until I got too big for Santa) I would get a Disney VHS tape, whichever movie was out that year. Once I graduated high school and went off to college, I had to fend for myself. My roommate in school and I were both Disney fanatics and together we helped each other complete our Disney VHS collections... then along came DVD, very soon after I had spent most of my spending money on VHS tapes. URGH! Anyway, Recently within the past 1 1/2 to 2 years I've begun to upgrade my old tapes to DVD.. it can get expensive, so it's being done slowly. I'm also an old movie buff, and by old I mean movies made from the first talkies to the 1950's. There is something about the era when film and motion pictures were so new that I am just drawn to. But, I'm trying to upgrade those VHS tapes as well. I watched the tapes so much that you can tell they are starting to get worn out.

I've only been to Disney World twice. Once when I was 5 and then again when I was 16. We went with our high school marching band for the Magic Music Days. That was when the Lion King was out, and I snatched up everything I could that was TLK related. Even bought a friend of mine some silk Pumbaa boxers... anyhoo, that's me, that's my Disney history. This is a great forum.. I'm glad I've found it. I've peaked around at other ones and they seem rather, how shall I put it, *crappy* to me :)

Oh well, I believe I have typed enough. That's my Disney story.

Lata' po-tata's :D

the reason we are here is because it was the only place he could get a job! he's a nuclear engineer, works for duke energy at a nuclear power station.. in reality, not too many choices of places for him to work. i like it here, close to blue ridge mountains (which is where i was born and raised) and close to the beach!

I remember always being fascinated with Disney. We used to rent movies and in the shop there was a big Sleeping Beauty poster hangin' on the wall. I think it was similiar to the old VHS cover (Philip kissing sleeping Aurora in the front, and in the background the castle's stairs and Maleficent at the top). Boy did I love this cover! I used to stare at it the whole time we were there.

Anyway, my real big obsession began when I went with my sister and two of our best friends to see The Little Mermaid in 1989. I remember seeing the seagulls at the beginning of the film and looking at my friend and we were both so thrilled, it was our first time in the theater (I was 4!)

Then, in the fall of 1991, The Little Mermaid was released on video here and my sister bought it. I soooo remember that whole evening! This time my two sisters and I were into this movie BIG TIME. We used to watch it 24/7, my then-14-year-old sister was obsessed about Ariel. It became our favorite movie ever.

Then I bought every movie Disney has put out on video but my favorites to this day remain The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.

Life Lesson #2589:
Women: Can't Live With Them, Can't Make Them Pipe Down While You're Watching a Football Game

Bah? What am I being accused of now?
I cop everything now:P Is it because I'm beautiful, and people fear my beauty? I assume so...

At least this involves me having 'wisdom' (just wish they were my words and my wisdom, but sadly no...).
Besides, everybody knows that it would probably be Loomis talking loudly all through a football game, not understanding the need for a bunch of grown men to throw themselves at each other. Sport eludes me...

But, a very warm welcome to Basil, who looks to be from my end of the world (or at least has bought a Australian-English dictionary).

Cheers!

I'm Kelly. :) Never realized that this topic was here, to discuss everyone, who they are. That was a really good idea Prince Phillip...or Alex! :float:
I am 16 years old, 17 in January. I love Disney movies and playing Nintendo. My favorite Disney movies are The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast.I hope to go to Disney World sometime in the future. I am an Ariel collector. I have many Ariel dolls, Lithographs, beach towels, etc. The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie since I've loved it for so long....ever since I was two! My mom just found my old Ariel dolls in the attic, and she also found a journal from first grade. (I think every day we had to draw a picture and "write" a sentence or two.) I would say about 60% of those journal entries are of Ariel.

Hi, everyone! First of all, I love this site! It's so informational! Anyway, this is my first post. I'm a seventeen-year-old guy who has recently gotten back into the Disney game after playing Kingdom Hearts ealier this summer. My first movie in theatres was The Little Mermaid. I've seen every animated movie since, except for Treasure Planet and Fantasia 2000. My favorite movies are the fab four - Aladdin, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid. I also really enjoy the other musicals, especially Pocahontas and Mulan. I've never really been a diehard fan of the "package" features or much of the other older classics. Currently, I only own The Lion King Platium Edition which I've pre-ordered (so I don't officially own it until October 8). I hope to start building my collection within the next year!

Hey Prince Eric, welcome to the site! Every DVD collection's got to start somewhere, and The Lion King seems as good a place to start as any. It's a favorite of mine. :)
