As I understand it, they're not recasting Jack Sparrow, they're looking for another actor to portray a character that can eventually replace Jack if the movie series continues. Like how Police Academy series had seven movies but only the first four feature Steve Guttenberg.

Well....I would hope that's the case....unless they did a movie about a younger Jack Sparrow and have a kid or teenager (not a Disney Channel Star unless they would be good) like a 13 year old version of Jack Sparrow....although then again maybe not....Escapay wrote:As I understand it, they're not recasting Jack Sparrow, they're looking for another actor to portray a character that can eventually replace Jack if the movie series continues. That's what I got out of it as well. And I've gotta add I'll have to be completely bowled over by any new character in order to stay interested in a series without Jack.Escapay wrote:As I understand it, they're not recasting Jack Sparrow, they're looking for another actor to portray a character that can eventually replace Jack if the movie series continues. I say they bring back Anamaria and new character. Anamaria had a lot of sass and could easily be further developed. And the new character can counter her, be like the yin to her yang, so that there's a lot of ongoing tension (sexual and otherwise) between them which would help further their character development while also providing good scenes and moments that could potentially make for more enjoyable movies. Like, Remington Steele and Laura Holt, except they're pirates.

OMG...this is GREAT news! More so for one reason...If its about the Fountain of Youth....there MAY be a chance it could be filmed nearby or at the site of the "real" Fountain of Youth, which is located in St. Augustine, FL........Why does this make me giddy???blackcauldron85 wrote:Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides – Plot Revealed...Well, sort of

DISNEY IS OUT OF THEIR MIND!!!!![]()

If Disney does replace Johnny I'm sure that the fans will abandon ship & leave disney to sink with it, I know I probably would.
I think I'd rather that they don't make another potc rather than make one without Johnny.
If they do make another one I seriously hope they lay off the supernatural stuff & do something different for a change.
On 2nd thoughts maybe I would watch a Johnnyless potc film just to here the music, I love that tune!!!blackcauldron85 wrote:Video: Johnny Depp at Disney expo

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Oh wow, that just brought back memories from the Expo. That was definitely one of the many highlights, seeing Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow live. I'll confess I'm one of those screaming fangirls you hear in the videoBlack pearl wrote:blackcauldron85 wrote:Video: Johnny Depp at Disney expo

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 4
I'm not sure if I'm going to see the fourth film. To be honest, I was dissapointed by both the sequels. The first film was and is still a masterpiece, a league on it's own.

Won't be seeing it. I can't stand Johnny Depp and I was turned off by the overdoing of Captain Jack Sparrow popping up every scene on the Pirates ride this past summer @ Disney World.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.
