They better have one more wave at least.

We need Chronological Donald V.3 and 4.

They can't just release half a collection.

James :)
Well, knowing when the first two Donald DVDs were released, the third one will be released in 2007 and the fourth in 2009.

I feel a little better that the Treasure run isn't 40,000!

I called Disney Home Video on Wednesday to get a third statement on the issue number, but the operator wasn't able to find that information.

I just wonder what Disney's motivation was for such a short run....

The same have happened to me, but they have sent our three of them - but of course not the one I was most looking forward to - Your host Walt Disney!
Hope this is only something they fix in the next hours, otherwise..... :x
Seems they have.

Not long after I logged off this morning, I finally got an email telling me that it's been shipped.

Now I gotta hope it arrives before Christmas, as one of the Treasures (The Hardy Boys) is a Christmas present.

DDD is usually slow to ship (which is ok due to their generally low prices) so it's weird that they've already begun to ship.

So, correct these statement if I'm wrong:

After this wave we'll have all Mickey and Pluto shorts.

After this wave we'll have all SS shorts.

After two more volumes of Donald we'll have pretty much all vintage Disney shorts.

I hope we at least get one more wave with Donald :/

Yes, MM, Pluto, SS and Goofy are basically covered now. We need more DD - I'd say two more volumes, or maybe a 3-disc vol 3 could be the way to go...? And then "we" even hope for another volume of "this and that", since there are still at least a few odds and ends missing.

When does Disney usually announce the contents of the next wave? Is it usually around May or something?

Surprising amount of audio commentaries on More Silly Symphonies! Now, one wishes they had did these more often over the past five waves.

If you have a commentary listing does this mean you have a shorts listing?

Whoops! They're on Disc 1. I just had already watched and commented on them, so they're separated from the rest in my notes. Sorry about that. Previous post edited.

Thank God for that, I was almost a very unhappy bunny! If I find out you deliberately left them off the list, just to worry us...

;)

It looks like we have a complete set! :D

Sorry Escapay, I'm pinching the elephants!

I remember when The Disney Channel had "DTV," where they had edited parts of Disney cartoons to modern songs. The idea was a play off of MTV with music videos.

I recall one that seemed to emphasize the SS "Musicland." Another was based on Sword and the Stone. Yet another had clips from a dance hall where the bugs all came out to have a night of dancing.

Was that bug cartoon a Silly Symphony? If so, what's the title? It would have to be on this Treasures SS Vol 2.

Regarding possible future Treasure volumes, let's look at some of the past subjects: Theme park/lands, Mickey Mouse Club serials, Legendary Heroes. These are open-ended genres. There's the 'Annette' serial, 'Corky and the White Shadow,' more 'Spin and Marty', Legendary Heroes Andy Burnett (Would Gallegher fit here?) and Dr. Syn, Alias the Scarecrow, and the crowning jewel -- only because of its rarity -- Song of the South.

Frankly, I think Dr. Syn would really be served as a standard DVD release.... Think Treasure Island, Johnny Tremain....

Song of the South? Well, Disney couldn't issue it in the "Legendary" series, because 1) it's not legendary, and 2) it would be a bad connotation to link its "racism" badge with the notion of "legendary."

How long does Disney want to keep the Treasure line going? I think they could end it once they've released the balance of Donald's cartoon shorts. How many volumes with they use to conclude his library? Once Donald is complete, I think they could bury the Treasure line, and be free to market Disney valuables under new themes, as they have done with "Legendary."

Luke the descritpion says all three Figaro shorts are there yet only Figaro and Cleo is listed. I dont see Figaro and Frankie or Bath Day in the shorts listing.

So now Pluto is complete, and the Special listing goes up by one(Bubble Bee)

If they didn't release Song of the South for its 60th anniversary they never will. I don't think this one will ever see the light of day.

On the bright side, the Jap LD to DVD copy is pretty awesome. So we can stick with that. It even has a few extras! It is the best bootleg I've got.

On another note, Donald is pretty much the only thing left to sustain the treasures. Personally I don’t care too much if the line dies with Donald. As long as we get all the rest of his shorts. He is truly the most entertaining of all.
