Watched "March of the Penguins" for the fourth or fifth time, and this is truly a remarkable piece of film-making. Without the voice of Morgan Freeman, I think this National Geographic film would have just been an average movie. Hope it doesn't get overlooked at the Academy Awards this year.

Our second feature was Wedding Crashers - The Uncorked Edition and I really don't think they added a whole lot except for language which I feel is totally unnecessary. This movie rocked me in the theater and I saw it four times. Thank goodness the theatrical version is also included on this DVD, otherwise it would have been a total waste of $14.

Valiant:

What a sad movie. Wasn't funny and wasn't entertaining either.

... it was just something there on the TV.

A couple nights ago, I watched Boogie Nights, which is a good movie, but runs a tad bit too long for my taste. I do recommend it, though (if you're over 17 :P ) since it has a great plot. I then watched The Royal Tenebaums, which I absolutely love. The humor is subtle, but it's always there. And the way the director utilizes music to score scenes- it makes my mouth water. I definitely recommend this film to anyone who has a couple hours free and want a non-fluffy movie.

I just watched Scream 2, which I've never seen all the way through. I was going to watch Saw, but there were three factors working against that. A) I was eating pizza, B) It's night and 3) I'm alone on my dorm floor. Yeah, I'm watching this one in broad daylight with no red foods in my sight. Wish me luck!

Currently watched Rush Hour 2. A good action-packed sequel, starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. That sequel is better than the first.

My favorite quote from that film:

Chris Tucker: C'mon man! I want some mushu!
Jackie Chan: Mushu? You hungry?

Batman Begins: I've got one question for myself: why the heck did I give it a 9/10! I guess this is a film that gets better the more you watch it! :D

Overall it's was even better than the first time! A fully blown 10/10 for me now!

It's almost even as good as Revenge of the Sith, but I'm not sure if it's better. :P

Saw- I don't know why people made such a big deal over this movie. It was weak.

Watched a classic WWII movie that I duped from TCM to DVD+R:

Sahara the 1943 classic with Humphrey Bogart, J. Carrol Naish, Lloyd Bridges and Dan Duryea. Excellent cast and an excellent story about a tank called "Lulubelle" that is caught between the American lines in Africa and being chased by the German army. Very good story, and very good b&w cinematography. I rate this one 4/5.

We watched two great westerns:

The Magnificent Seven starring Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen. This is the new 2-disc version and they have really taken time to re-master the picture and sound. It looks and sounds brilliant. The extras are really good on Disc 2.

The Wild Bunch Sam Peckinpah's most well-known western. Featuring an all-star cast, and slow-motion special effects that have yet to be equalled today, this film has also been totally restored to its originally clarity and it is the Director's Cut. Disc 2 features are really good and give a good insight into Sam Peckinpah's life in Hollywood.

These two movies came out this week and still available at sale prices until Sunday.
