Well a friend coerced me and I caved. Wow! This is simply amazing! The table rock scene looks incredible! I'm so excited!
I'm with DK in that I no longer am scared of it being too LOTR-ish, but I am worried that they could still play up the war aspect a bit much here.
Also, just a small correctional note: there are seven books, not eight.

The film looks great!
Too bad it will have hidden christian elements,
but I know that was also how CS wrote it.
It is so screwed up that in the next year upcoming movie of the book triologi "His Dark Matterials" they are taking God out of the movie, and how the churchs really work, just not to offend christians.
But here they throw christian views and influence children who watches the chronicles.

I'm Wiccan and I am raising my daughter in that way. Yet we watch Prince of Egypt and Chronicles of Narnia. But Christians also watched The Craft and the series Charmed and Buffy.
Just because a movie is about a specific religion doesn't mean that those people of that religion will be the only ones to enjoy it. Or that it can influence our children all that much.
In that case: Next thing you'll know, they'll think Mufasa is a God.

What I was trying to say is that whenever it comes to movies, where christianity is offended or mocked, or presented in a bad view, it goes under the axe and gets censoured. Like with the upcoming "His dark materials" movie, they had to take out god, because of all the preasure from the christian community.
It`s not the way it should be, christianity (religion) should never have had that much power to influence, and say what is right and wrong.

No one can put a gun to the producers head and say don't do it. Blame them for getting a yellow line their backs rather then stand up for Freedom of Speech and Religion. Passion of Christ was slammed badly before and after it was released, but Mel Gibson kept it true to his vision.
Christianity is GIVEN that power. They don't have it. People back down when one large group comes at them. And Christianity is a large group, especially in the USA

Wheeee!! Thanks for the links, Disneykid!! ^_^
Yeah, it is a crappy bootleg, but for what you can see (which is a good bit, actually), it looks phenomenal!
It's actually boosted my faith in this film a good bit. I mean, even if the acting is as stiff as a board (which I'm still afraid it might be... you never know), then one still has the gorgeous WETA visual effects to drool at. The score was goosebump-inducing, as well - especially the part where the kids first arrive in Narnia and Susan exclaims "Impossible!"
I'll say it again... wheeee!!

Life often leaves us standing bare, naked and dejected with a lost opportunity. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residues of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words: "Too late."

Wasn't Chronicles written before LOTR? So really, is it fair to compare Chronicles like they copy LOTR?
Two fantasy pictures.
Both with epic battle scenes.
So yeah, they are BOUND to look similar. But I didn't see any giant lion or a unicorn in the battle scenes of LOTR
A lot of LOTR's battle scenes reminded me of Braveheart. It's natural to compare them, but I mean, come on, battle scenes with horses are of course going to remind you of other movies. Means nothing to me. They story is very different in some respects from LOTR.
