They do say, Mrs M, that verbal insults hurt more than physical pain. They are, of course, wrong, as you will soon discover when I stick this toasting fork into your head. - Blackadder the Third

Note: This is just a framework, I didn't think out new names of people/places or all the specific events that occur:
I'd make a sequel called "How Kuzco Got His Groove Back" and it would involve Kuzco and Pacha getting evicted from their hilltop due to an error discovered in the laws defining the boundaries of Kuzcotopia.
So after getting served papers, Kuzco and Pacha go to the neighboring kingdom who their hilltop now seemingly belongs to (and who Kuzco is friends with) to talk things over but they discover the castle looks very different now. Turns out a strange veiled bony lady in a robe now owns the land, the old owner is nowhere in sight. The talks don't go well at all and she tells them she will see them in court!
Kuzco and Pacha hire the best lawyer in Kuzcotopia, who is of course Kronk, who is also a part-time squirrel scout and personal friend of Kuzco and Pacha.
During the trial hilarity ensues, but ultimately Kuzco and Pacha lose and are ordered to leave their hillside, even though Kuzco is sure something is not right here. Like the error in the law, the strange lady, and the rigged court trial.
Sometime after this, perhaps as they are leaving the courthouse (or packing their belongings), some type of event I haven't thought of yet occurs that causes Kronk to get turned into a squirrel and Pacha turned into a llama. Kuzco stays human this time!
Now the trio must make their way back to somewhere to do something, neither of which I thought up yet either. But along the the way in addition to getting in trouble and more hilarity of course, they discover that Yzma is behind all of this and has somehow taken control of the neighboring kingdom as well as changed the land boundaries to control Kuzco and Pacha's hillside. Oh, and she isn't a cat anymore either.
Why does she want the hillside? I don't know, maybe something important is buried under it. I really haven't thought out all the details for everything yet.
This sequel uses reoccuring themes like after getting evicted they first visit the "ruler" to talk things out. Then they get turned into animals and almost get killed, but the twist being Kuzco stays a human this time. And then they go on a journey to get back home or something. Eventually they confront Yzma and battle her again and win and restore order to Kuzcotopia as well as it's neighboring kingdom. Perhaps they discover the old ruler was turned into an animal too who appears throughout the sequel but they keep ignoring (or missing) until the end.

Successful Sequel
Let's face it: sequels are going to be a lasting controversy among fans. They often end up forcing the same characters to retred the same paths with much less magic and seemingly forced songs (check out the new Aladdin 2-pack if you have any doubt). In this very site's top ten of 2004 list, however, Lion King 1 1/2 was included. In an age where the DisneyToon Studio's skills are improving, it seems like sequels are a viable art form that needs to be explored. If any of the preview shots are indicators, I think that we have an exciting year ahead as far as sequels go.
My suggestion is that sequels focus on developing side characters instead of using the central characters. This is apparently already being approached in the Tinkerbell movie, but I don't think that's the most motion-picture friendly property. Belle has discovered multiple times that the Beast is more than he appears, with the result of her appearing a little less than bright (
). Think of interesting side characters that may deserve their own stories. I'm sure the writers could come up with something neat. Any suggestions?

I think the lighter the stories are for the DTVs, the more they succeed. When they try to match the Feature Animation in terms of emotion and storytelling, they usually come up short, so I think pure comedies are best suited for sequel or spin-off efforts.
I agree that a Rutt & Tuke movie could be good, but it wouldn't work well as a TLK 1.5 type thing, to spoof scenes from Brother Bear - TLK 1.5 got a lot of its entertainment value from the status of the original movie's scenes being so famous, which is not the case with BB. So perhaps a straight up prequel or sequel featuring the mooses' antics would work.
The best idea I can think of is a sequel to Home on the Range. Since the orginal flick was mainly a light comedy, it wouldn't be too hard for a sequel to match the original. Perhaps something focusing on Buck?

I think something like the Great Mouse Detective is just screaming for a sequel! Since Basil is a detective, it opens up so many story possiblities and openings for new villains.
I think that maybe Robin Hood could be good for a sequel, too. I could picture many new adventures with those characters.
I really wish the Who Discovered Roger Rabbit movie would have reached frutation.
This wouldn't really count as a sequel, but I really wish they'd make a Darkwing movie, even if they had to update him a little. He's still one of my favorite characters. But that's not gonna happen, unless they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I think The Great Mouse Detective and Robin Hood would be great. Not so much as movies, but TV shows. There are just tons of story lines you could do about them. Also I don't think it would be bad to make a Peter Pan cartoon series. I know that Fox had Peter Pan and the pirates, but it just wasn't the same as Disney's Peter Pan. Plus The Peter Pan characters are still very very popular. Return to Neverland is the only Sequal that made me cry at the end, and that's saying alot.

I loved Return to Neverland! It was a good story and good characters, but the music didn't really fit, but it was still a good moive and good music when put by themselves.corrwill wrote:I think The Great Mouse Detective and Robin Hood would be great. Anyhow, my idea for a good sequel:
In an old old topic, I wrote:I don't think plans are written in stone yet, but the Charles Perrault story (included on the SB DVD 2nd disc) continues after she wakes up. The Prince and Sleeping Beauty get married and have two children, Aurora (They may have to change this bit)and Day. Prince Philip later goes off to war and leaves Princess Aurora and his children to the care of his ogress mother. She apparently hates children. I incorrectly stated in another thread that she eats them. She doesn't, but she threatens to throw them into a pit of vipers, but the Prince comes home in time and she's so ashamed she throws in herself. With this continuation of the story we have a new villain, new characters, and a new real fairy tale story that chances are not many ppl have heard of.DreamerQ18 wrote:So there is going to be a Sleeping Beauty Sequal for sure ? Whats it going to be about like whats the more to the story that your talking about I have never heard of it I'd like to know?
I have a feeling that this sleeping beauty sequel would be difficult to pull off. Although Disney Toon Studios has improved in leaps and bounds, I doubt they'd be able to replicate the Eyvend Earle style backgrounds unless they reused originals to cut cost and then spent extra time working on the additional ones they need.
Furthermore, the rather grim story would take more dialogue to pull off. The original was propelled largely through music, and that (in my opinion) should carry over to any sequel that might be made. All of the other sequels try to recapture the same (story) ideas as the first; why shouldn't they do the same style-wise? Viewers may be confused as to why Prince P's mom is an ogre....
Plus, a new theme would have to be found that at least evokes the power of the first. Not an easy request, mind you.

Actually, it´s kind of a midquel, in wich´ll be explained what happened on the time between the Bambi´s mother death and the spring in wich Bambi returns to the forest.PrincessJen wrote:I've heard that they're working on a sequel to Bambi....wonder how that'll work
It´s been said than Andrea Dejas it´s working on it and actually my avatar it´s the first picture of this midquel, but what is most important than the draws and colors is the story
