Re-releases
Hi! I just saw on the site that Tarzan and Mulan are currently out of print...and i wanted to know when will they be released again. Thanks.
The sequel to Tarzan (not to be confused with the DVD "Tarzan and Jane") is to be released in 2004. I would imagine the DVD will be re-released then.
Regarding Mulan, I would imagine this will be when the DTV sequel "Mulan II" (good title eh?) is released.
I have been following the progress of Mulan II quite closely. It was originally to have been released this year, but most sources are indicating a 2004 release now.
The thing is, both 2003 and 2004 seem to be pretty full of scheduled DTV releases. I don't know when Mulan II and Mulan III (which is being produced back-to-back with Mulan II) will be released.

Ugh. It shouldn't surprise me that there will be a DTV sequel to Mulan, but TWO?
I truly believe that Mulan was a film that in no way shape or form required a sequel (although the same could be said about all the DTV sequels).
Mulan worked (but sometimes didn't) because it managed to tread that fine line between respect for subject matter and good storytelling. By putting out two sequels, you are losing the first element to that equation.
Well, it will be good to see it out on DVD again anyways - I missed out the first time as I was not really "collecting" then...

It says on the Mulan page: "The availability of this title is limited or unavailable. We do not know if or when we will be able to fill your order for this title".thomasnetboy wrote:hi, if you want...you can still buy Mulan at dvdboxoffice... I did... in March... its the Limited Issue Mulan (US version)... Ive collected all Limited Issues recently... (they were all released about 3 years ago...)
Did it say this when you ordered it? I might go ahead and get it, but it looks as though they are are of stock now too.
Bummer, because international shipping seemed to be free...

I hope when Mulan does get Re-released (The UK has only ever had the Limited Edition Version on DVD) that its a 2-disc set with loads of great extra's. I love Mulan.
I've read somewhere to Tarzan might be going to IMAX cinema's in 2005 so the DVD might be re-released after that, thank god the UK edtion never went out of print.

Yeah, you're right, Im sorry. It looks like Mulan is out of stock at dvdboxoffice. When I ordered Mulan in March dvdboxoffice didnt say anything about limited/unavailable... I also ordered LK2 in Feb there... Mulan was also cheaper when I ordered it, CAD 29.95 (USD 20), now its CAD 39.95 (USD 27). Both DVDs were US version Limited Issue... Try email them if they have it, sometimes it works...Loomis wrote:It says on the Mulan page: "The availability of this title is limited or unavailable. I haven't heard anything about Disney re-releasing Mulan. I hope Disney will re-release the original Mulan in 2003 or 2004. Eddie Murphy sounds so funny in the trailers.
Here's some news on some Mulan sequels though:
Epic Tale 'Mulan' the Focus of Four Productions

The Hollywood Reporter announces that besides Disney's Mulan II, there are no fewer than three versions of the legendary warrior's story in development in Greater China alone for release in 2004 and 2005.

I wasn't available in the UD forums much yesterday, but TWO Mulan DTV SEQUELS?
*cries*
And then a television series, and then a PS2 game, and then a multi-platinum pop album, and then... the world! Maw-ha-ha! Maw-ha-ha! Maw-ha-ha! Mulan will control the world! (Let's face it, its a better option then Hilary Duff!)I wasn't available in the UD forums much yesterday, but TWO Mulan DTV SEQUELS?
Hey, if there are two sequels released, it means there's more chance of the original being re-released properly!

I still think Disney b******ized Mulan with the addition of Eddie Murphy...2099net wrote:And then a television series, and then a PS2 game, and then a multi-platinum pop album, and then... the world! *goes to the nearest corner of the UD forum quietly cursing at Eddie Murphy*
Michelle Yeoh and Chow Yun-Fat better have a far more decent Mulan flick than Disney did...
