I would buy every collector's edition Disney releases, even if the films are not favorite of mine (Aristocats, Sword In The Stone, etc..). I'm so excited about the January Special Editions! These are three of my favorite films, and I can barely wait to have loaded editions!
I'll "just" have to re-buy "Pocahontas" and "L&S". "I don't have "Alice" on DVD.
I just hope Disney give us inserts on these DVDs... I will be really mad if they don't. Did the recent SE of "Bug's Life", "Leagues Under The Sea" e "Love Bug" have inserts? What about the packaging? Alpha Pack ou Double Digipack?

They were Double Alphas (the wide ones) - only 20K had a chapter insert.

Thanks Luke! I'm happy they were Alpha Packs, but what is Disney tinking about the inserts?!! We have to pay a lot for this DVDs and we can't even have a decent thing!!!
The Bug's Life Re-issue was dual amaray and had an insert. I know the insert for the re-issue wasn't simply there because the original CE had one because the re-issue's insert had the same basic style of the disc and cover artwork and also wasn't a booklet like the CE's normally had, but a single insert. I don't mind, I'd rather have a single insert than to have no insert at all.
Well, I did buy Lilo and Stitch, when it came out. (It was a blind buy) and I got, Alice in Wonderland, free, after buying Beauty and the Beast and 3 addition DVD's. (It was either this or Pocahontas...) So really I only have to rebuy 1, because the other one I got for free, and the other one, will be the first time I own it... EVER! but I am really excited! I have really been wanting to see Pocahontas lately, but I am waiting for the SE release this January... Really excited... besides Sleeping Beauty and Lion King, these January SE's are the only disney dvd releases that I am really excited about...
Deciding between SE and Platinum, i would have to say that Platinum DVDs are much better than the Special Edition DVDs since the last couple of Special Edition DVDs were a big disapointment.

Well, which Special Editions are you referring to? Peter Pan? Oliver & Company?
I think this new incarnation of "Special Edition" should be something much better, probably 2 discs if they're going to offer much over the old discs.
MickeyMouseBoy, the UK doesn't have a 2 disc "Peter Pan" release, only thr one disc.
The deal with the 3 January special editions is this; Pocahontas and Alice In Wonderland will most likely be better quality versions of the films and then direct ports of all the special features from the earlier Laserdisc's. With Lilo and Stitch lots of special features had been made for a 2 disc release while the movie was being made, but for whatever reason Disney only put out a 1 disc version. Now that the 1 disc has sold well Disney is making us all re-buy this movie with all those special features we heard about ages ago.
I can't wait for Alice in Wonderland, I didn't get the original, thank goodness. I probably will be stuck with a Peter Pan 1-disc, cause there are so many others I want to buy, I don't have money to rebuy, even if it is my favorite... That probably means there will be a SE of Return to Neverland (begins to cry)
I hope the re-release of Pocahantas is a better quality video version than the first release. I can not believe Disney put a DVD out that was so badly copied.

See The Rescuers for another example of that.
At least "Resuers" is an old film, but "Pocahontas" was produced recently! Shame on you Disney!
