A very sad article.
at the end of the article re:Shrek 2 wrote:"Look at that emotion on his face!" Romanillos said. "It's so expressive. Look at the lighting. It's amazing what you can do on the computer."
Weren't they doing that in Pinocchio in the 1940's :?

It makes me wonder how kids in 2037 will react to Snow White's 100th anniversary when animation movies are now in 3d...

It's indeed a sad article.

I hate this fetish that the industry has with the life-like look of things in 3D animated movies. If I wanted to watch something life-like, I'd watch CGI in live-action films like The Two Towers.

Ooh, that article is HORRIBLE. It just proves that DreamWorks is the WORST of them all. Pixar is good, but if it's their fault that traditional animation is out, that's bad!

Hopefully Disney will continue 2D/3D mix like Treasure Planet, but it sure doesn't look like they will...

Actually after Disney release "Home On The Range" in 2004 it isn't really their last 2D animated film. They plan on releasing two animated movies in 2005, "Chicken Little" and another thats had so many title changed I cant remember whats its called at the moment. Anyways It star's Dolly Parton and has a mix of both 2D and 3D characters and backgrounds.

There's rumours that both of these films are now entirely CGI.
