Mulan DVD Sales figures

Hello, does anyone know how Mulan's sales have been so far? I wouldn't expect them to be more than Aladdin's. I am surprised at how Aladdin has been doing. I really thought it was going to be HUGE! But then, almost everyone I know has the VHS already!

I am curious to know about that too. It's obvious it won't sell as well as "Aladdin" for a lot of reasons (marketing, popularity, previously avaiable on DVD), but I'm sure it will bring good bucks for Disney.

By the way, where can I check the weekly DVD charts?

I always get the charts from Entertainment Weekly but if you want a reliable online source, www.billboard.com tracks video sales in addition to music. It's on their website under charts you'll see home videos.

Because Billboard's numbers end with the week before <i>Mulan</i> was released.

Well, I just checked the latest billboard chart, the one that will be issued November 13. Mulan was not in the top 10. Aladdin, on the other hand, was holding fast at #7, with Farenheit 9/11 at #8. I don't know for exactly what sales week this is for, so it may be one week before Mulan.
It says the above two movies have been on the chart for three weeks already, so this must be the right week.

Mulan maintains it's #4 spot this week! Despite debuting at number 4, and having to suffer through a whole new week of new releases, the only title to surpass it is the new slew of Shrek DVD's:

1.) Shrek 2 (widescreen)
2.) Shrek 2 (Pana nd Scan)
3.) Shrek (2-pack)
4.) Mulan!

10.) Aladdin

It looks like we have two DVD's with some really strong legs! The fact That Mulan didn't slip on the cart, is, in my mind, simply amazing!

Here in the UK Mulan was released on Monday, and in Blackpool where I live today when i went into town Mulan was sold out in 3 stores!

I am not to worried about it . I mean what with the holidays around the corner I am sure that a lot of people are waiting to give them as X-mas gifits .

I checked the dutch dvd sales this week and guess what, in its second week of sales Aladdin stays on top, with Shrek 2 debuting at #2 take that you ugly green ogre (and yes I hate Shrek and everything it stands for )

Just a question, do you hate Shrek because Dreamwork's is disney's rival company and it pokes fun at fairytales/disney, or do you hate it for other reasons? cause i worked for disney and I loved shrek so...just wondering

I hate shrek because simply it is overrated! OK it's good, but it's not that good! For example I don't think it's that funny, When I went to see Shrek 2 at the theatre ewvrybody around me was laughing their heads of at the least funny things. I mean when donkey was saying ''are we there yet?'' people were laughing them selves silly, I mean come on people an are we there yet joke! Thery wern't funny back in 1976!

Also I don't like the animatoin, In the immortal words of Daphne and Celeste ''U.G.L.Y you ain't got no alibi, you UGLY! I think it is just dreamworks style of animating that I don't like! It is very angular and square, the style of Madagascar looks very similar.

And like I said earlier that fact that everyone hails this as THE greatest animated film of all times, makes me just want to slap! And that makes me hate it more!

I hate Shrek because it simply relies on whatever's cool at the moment, way too many pop culture references. Now I have nothing against that, I just think the way Dreamworks does that, is tasteless. And I have nothing against Dreamworks either, if you cut out the Bryan Adams songs and the Matt Damon voice over, Spirit is an awesome film. Sinbad was okay too. I just really dislike Shrek, it's overrated. I mean come on, $440 million ? The original Shrek was okay by the way, the sequels just really sucked.. I laughed twice throughout the whole thing. What a trainwreck. (sorry just my opinion )

Edit: and I really dislike the animation, the characters hardly move, Fiona's parents for example are SO stiff. When I go see an animated film I wanna see the character move and bounce around. I wanna see them do things that actors in live action movies cannot accomplish. But above all I wanna see inspirational character designs like The Incredibles, Aladdin or even Home on the Range. Shrek is just tasteless

Mulan 2 has been advertised quite extensively, but there has been no or little mention of the original film, which really bugs me. No wonder it cannot get good sales numbers if no one knows about the release! Even when I know it exists it's hard to find a place that would sell it online. Well OK, they might try to sell you a box set of both films, but you cannot seem to get Mulan separately at all...

Yes, that bugs me too! Why on earth would they advertise a sequel so much and don't even mention the classic? Well, fortunately I knew about Mulan release so I found it easily.
