Thank you for enforcing UD's rules. The banning of Kingruler202 should be a lesson to all: Don't waste bandwidth and posts just to get a little picture under your name.

Perhaps a suggestion? To actually show that you're a regular, up the post-requirement-for-avatar to 150? That way the serious people who actually want to contribute insightful comments and opinions regularly will get the PRIVILEGE of having an avatar identifying who they are.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I think 50 is reasonable for now, since 50 well thought-out posts will take some time (and several returning appearances) to make. If anything, perhaps full-sized 140x140 avatars may at some point be limited to the most regular members, and 100x100 to people with less points. But that's probably more complicated than it's worth at this point.

I guess with the release of <i>Aladdin</i>, it's inevitable that as many people are finding the site as ever. I don't want to restrict access to the forum to anyone. But I won't have posts on the forum reduced to inane fragments, and there's a clear difference between wanting to contribute to discussions and wanting to get an avatar under your name.

Yeah, that's probably what's bringing the influx of new members. Positive thing about it though...it brought us Evil Genie Jafar, a newbie who is a regular and actually contributes!

Yes, thank you Luke. As you know I PMed you about another member yesterday and I thought adding my two cents worth for Krueger but thought I would be coming across as whining too much with two rants. Yes, but clearly he was trying to boost his count to 50. Thanks, you have made this a nicer place for the rest of us.

Excellent idea. Reward long-term and those who participate with additional options. On one board I visit, they even disabled the PM box until after 10 posts. I try to post as much as I can, but school + internship = no time
