Tuesday's Aladdin deals
Well, with a Share the Love discount on Amazon's already-reasonable price, plus the free shipping option, I got the Gift Set down to $29.24. Not too bad! I think last year I paid $28 on Amazon for the TLK set. Of course, the free shipping option usually takes a few days, but I can wait.
Life often leaves us standing bare, naked and dejected with a lost opportunity. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residues of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words: "Too late."

Then, let's see if I can wait. I waited for so long for this movie.
I only had three movies I was dying to have on Dvd and this is one. The worst part is that on Tuesday I don't have classes. So that will make matters worse. In the end I think I might end up with 2 copies of the movie. I simply can't wait.
PS
One more question about the movie in the Dvd set. Inside the set, does the movie come sealed? As if you were going to buy it indiviudally or since it comes inside a box it doesn't?

As with my Lion King Gift Set, the DVD inside was just like the Platinum Edition DVD sold by itself. The DVD case is sealed and the outer slipcover is not.Evil Genie Jafar wrote:One more question about the movie in the Dvd set. Inside the set, does the movie come sealed? Ok.... that solves my problem. I'll be buying the DVD on Tuesday and when my Gift Set comes I'll just let that movie sealed. Just in case something happens to the other one.
Thanks again Luke!!!!!

So I technically could buy the regular one from Best Buy then return the one from the gift set tight?? You are 100% sure that its sealed? Well, I haven't seen the Aladdin gift set. But the DVD inside my Lion King gift set is identical to those that were bought alone, in terms of stickers and packaging. I'm not sure why Aladdin would be different, but it is possible. So not 100% sure.Ciaobelli wrote:So I technically could buy the regular one from Best Buy then return the one from the gift set tight?? You are 100% sure that its sealed? Thanks

So seeing that amazon still isn't even "shipping soon" would you say it would be safe to just ge the regular from BB and then return the one from the giftset??Luke wrote:Well, I haven't seen the Aladdin gift set. Well, for me it's going to be the first time I buy a movie twice. But this is one of my favorite movies and as I said before I can't wait anymore and it would be wise to have another one just in case something happens to one; and it could happen no matter what (and besides this one in particular would be out of print). I'm very careful with my DVD's but I lost one of a an anime tv series (and it was $80) just because a fungus or humidity got into it, even tough I handled it with the same care as the others (none of the other ones have got it).So seeing that amazon still isn't even "shipping soon" would you say it would be safe to just ge the regular from BB and then return the one from the giftset??
So for me buying it twice serves 2 purposes: ends my anxiety and as a backup copy.
As for you, you could very well do that or sell it otherwise.

Yeah, the Best Buy Rewards Zone program gives you a card that gets swiped with every purchase (you can turn in friend's purchases or gifts you receive online too, though) and you earn points. After an almost-unreasonably high number of points, you earn a $5 gift certificate to be used on anything in in Best Buy the store-- not the website, but it doesn't cover tax. It costs $10/year to join. I joined in February and I buy a lot of media, mostly from Best Buy, and have only earned $15 in gift certificates thus far. I'm still on the fence as to whether I'll renew the program for a second year.

I'm sure you don't need to do that Ciaobelli, I mean, Luke said that Amazon had started to ship the Gift Sett, so yours must be shipped very soon now and you'll probably get your DVD from Best Buy approximaely the same time you'll get your gift set from amazon, so...
Chandler (to Phoebe, over the phone) : Listen, Joey isn't gonna be here tonight so why don't you come over and I'll let you uh.. feel my bicep; or maybe more...

I'll be going to Best Buy on Tuesday, then, to get Aladdin. Just the Platinum Edition. I'm not interested in the gift set ... and I'm trying to keep my budget in control, so ... I'm looking forward to seeing the film again. It's been awhile.

I got my gift set at Walmart for $40 and got a free pin with it, featuring the cover art and a First Time on DVD blurb.

I ended up at Suncoast Video today. I got Aladdin and the Pirates of the Caribbean, plus $3 worth of candy, plus a $3 rebate coupon on Aladdin, PLUS a little cel thing for $32:).
Also, it was Toddler Tuesday at the Mall and I brought my boys. They got to color crowns and pages, free stickers and watch the movie. I'm so excited my 4 year old likes it!
