I completely agree, Brelly. Adriana was great to the end. Those kids getting to see real Snow White was a gift. You know, I am glad you posted that story, PatchofBlue, because I had heard she and the Prince never got in!

I had never heard that story either. The story itself was interesting.

Listening to most often lately:
Ariana Grande ~ "oh well"
Sombr ~ "My Body Isn't Ready"
Kacey Musgraves ~ "I Will Always Love You"

Re: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Discussion
Farerb, is that the bonus feature from the Diamond Edition? I never got around to that. Figured I would when I retired, along with all other Disney movies I cared about. I just watch Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty bonus features currently. I just don't have the time for others. Hopefully I get a lot of time to myself to watch other film bonuses sooner than retirement.
Re: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Discussion
This is one of my favorite bonus features on any Disney home release. It's so well done, and very informative. Snow White's Platinum DVD and Diamond Blu-ray are among the best that Disney has ever released.

If it's not baroque, don't fix it.

Popping in here because you DM'ed me on IG so I thought I'd check out how the forums are doing. Found a discussion about physical media bonus features so naturally I have to chime in, haha.Disney Duster wrote: ↑Mon May 19, 2025 6:31 am Farerb, is that the bonus feature from the Diamond Edition?
Based on the running time, I'm assuming it's all 31 featurettes/introductions in one video, plus the eight bonus cartoons that were included for context. When Disney reissued Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 2016, it removed the interactivity of the original "Hyperion Studios" disc and just made two half-hour documentaries from them, with some featurettes now serving as standalones, and a few more (plus all the bonus cartoons) dropped entirely.
Don't put things off because of a mythical promise of someday. Now is all any of us have. Make the time while you still can. The entirety of the "Hyperion Studios" video is 3 hours and 18 minutes. That's two minutes less than if you decided on a whim tonight to just rewatch the following bonus features you've already seen from Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty:Disney Duster wrote: ↑Mon May 19, 2025 6:31 amI never got around to that. Re: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Discussion
Thank you Vlad and Alby.
I truly do not have much time these days except on weekends. I have a novel of an email from another friend that has videos recommended to watch that are also, some, 3 hours +. But you know, even though I would be fine waiting till Heaven to watch, or perhaps live bonus features from my favorite Disney films (and I really, truly believe in Heaven myself, that the time we have now is not the only time we have), I will make the effort to watch that Hyperion 3 hour feature.
I just don't know what weekend exactly, I still have that novel of an email to juggle it with.

Re: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Discussion
I guess this was the weekend, because I watched the whole thing today! Well, I watched a lot at work over 2 days and finished it today. Thanks Farerb and Alby! It was the best bonus feature in the world. So interesting to see how things Walt did in all his cartoons carried on into his films.

That was really cool! The idea of Snow White losing her childlike innocence, experiencing trauma, and then recovering is astounding! That's like a metaphor for the whole film!

Question. Which scene scared everyone the most as a kid, and which one do you think is the scariest as an adult? Or did said scene in question never even change? Interested in everyone's perspectives.

Re: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Discussion
I actually don't have a lot of memories of being particularly traumatized by this movie. I absolutely understand why, though, it has the reputation that it does. I still don't know if any of my sisters have shown this movie to their kids (the oldest just turned 8 ). I think the forest chase is the big block for them.
What's stood out for me, though, I'd say is the raw emotions of something like the funeral scene for Snow White. Like, I don't think I've ever watched that and not felt moved.

That's funny cause when I was about that age I'd be playing stuff like the forest scene and the transformation scene, but especially the forest scene on loop a lot. Always been a favorite sequence of mine.PatchofBlue wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2026 10:43 am I actually don't have a lot of memories of being particularly traumatized by this movie. I never found the film scary. But the Huntsman's scene (not the forest sequence so much) and the closeup of the Hag watching SW bite into the apple definitely have a strong creep factor.

Re: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Discussion
To me it would have to be the part with the hag gleefully cackling, shouting "she'll be buried alive" and then kicking the bucket of water over the skeleton that has to have the strongest creep factor looking back, even though I found the hag to be very comical as a kid. The woods sequence is definitely my favorite but that shot you mentioned of the hag smiling watching Snow White moaning and grasping for air has to be a contender for second place for me. Definitely was always a big fan of that film's darker side.Disney's Divinity wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2026 1:03 pm I never found the film scary. A friend of mine is still scared of the Witch from this film, and I’ve known her since high school in the aughties. She and I both have autism spectrum disorder. But actually nothing from a Disney film really scared me that I can recall.

The closest thing to it would be that I was scared of my little inflatable Monstro the whale (from Pinocchio) toy in my room in the dark when I went to bed, and that I am way more scared of Monstro now as an adult, strangely, than I ever was as a kid. I guess something changed with my anxiety making me imagine if I ever really had to be in the water with the real whale, or something.

The craziest part is that it's in the same movie as Pleasure Island, lol.Disney Duster wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2026 11:29 pm A friend of mine is still scared of the Witch from this film, and I’ve known her since high school in the aughties. What do you mean about Monstro and Pleasure Island, ScotJohnny? You mean the boys turning to donkeys is scarier?
