Its right in the article.
Brad Bird will still return as writer and picked Sohn himself to direct due to his own commitments to Ray Gunn and 1906.

Okay. So there will be a 10th year synergy between the two sequels.

There's one thing you can't expect from The Incredibles 3 when it hits screens in 2028, and that's a significant leap forward in the character's lives. In a recent interview with The Direct, Bird, who will write but not direct the third installment of the series, threw cold water on the notion of a time jump when asked. He argues that the characters of the franchise represent certain archetypes of the stages of life, and that aspect of the series would be lost if the characters were aged up. Says Bird, "People just keep thinking that aging them up is going to make them somehow hipper or cooler, or more like them, and it's like no, it won't." It certainly wouldn't be out of line with the franchise: The Incredibles 2 picks up moments after the conclusion of the original film, even though it was released 14 years later.

Re: Incredibles 3
The problem here is they want endless sequels, not simply a good trilogy. They want to keep going on to Incredibles 6, 7, 8, etc. at some point. Where they could've had a decent trilogy aging them up in 2 and then one last time in 3, that wouldn't really gel with endless sequels because they wouldn't be able to age them up more than a couple of times. So instead we're going to get a bunch of mundane plots wuthout much story significance like in 2.

Listening to most often lately:
Ariana Grande ~ "hate that I made you love me"
Sombr ~ "My Body Isn't Ready"
Kelly Clarkson ~ "I'd Be Lyin'"

I dunno, I dont think you need to age them up every time, aging them up just a little, just once, would allow for so many sequels already before it got stale. But it does kind of feel like things are a bit too stuck to do much with for the time being.
