Yes, it is from Casablanca. The ranking would be - Gone With the Wind, Wizard of Oz, Casablanca, All About Eve, Yentl. These are my favorites in live-action.

The first one was made for the movie's IMAX release.

I think the art is taken directly from the movie itself, during the Human Again sequence, when they read together.

The second one I think was made when the movie was released on VHS for the first time

I don't think I've seen this one before, but it's really nice.
To be honest, I liked the latter artwork better than the former. The last artwork was simply better made and with more flair, while the first atwork was cheap and lazy (sorry).

I love all those movies, Vlad! And I would have to add The Sound of Music.
GWTW is definitely my all time favorite.
I’m happy to say I’ve seen all of them over the years on the big screen except for All About Eve.
I listen to the Yentl soundtrack quite often. The song The Way He Makes Me Feel was instrumental in my coming out.... but that’s another story...

Thank you for telling me, Vlad! And yay The Wizard of Oz! I do not like All About Eve that much, but it's so long it would take me a while to watch it again to see if I would like it more upon second viewing. I would watch it if you ever were at my house and was like, "Let's watch this!" lol. I do intend to see Yentl, though. That has one of the best endings ever according to a list. My favorite live-action is Cinderella (2015), then The Wizard of Oz, then The Wiz.

I discovered Yentl fairly recently, which is very surprising , because I’m a huge Barbra Streisand fan. I saw it for the first time ever on HBO Max I think last year, and I fell in love with the soundtrack. I think she’s at her best both as an actress and as a singer in Yentl. And you’re right, the ending is awesome! She holds a very high note for 19 seconds! Look for “A Piece of Sky” on YouTube, and give it a listen.

Aww, that’s sweet. I have the Yentl soundtrack as a favorite on my iPhone, I listen to it”Papa, Can you Hear Me”, “Where is it Written?” And “A Piece of Sky” almost religiously.

Will Someone Ever Look At Me That Way? is another fantastic Yentl song with gay subtext that meant so much to me growing up...

That was my reaction when I first saw the movie and I heard that glorious final note. Anyways, let's bring the topic back to Beauty and the Beast. We spammed it enough with Yentl

Concept art by Hans Bacher for Richard Purdum's version of Beauty and the Beast. This marked the first time Fragonard's painting The Swing was used as inspiration for a Disney production, years before Glenn Keane used it for Rapunzel.

The Enchanted music box! Interesting The Swing was used here, and in Rapunzel, and Frozen (Anna with the paintings) and possibly Cinderella 2015 with the secret rose garden. I so wish we had gotten the look and Rapunzel title Glen Keane wanted.

Jim Hillin, an effects animator, revealed in a new interview that Disney initially wanted all of the film's backgrounds to be CG. Then, due to time and budgetary constraints—there was only a crew of five assigned to that task who only had nine months to complete it—they limited it to just the ballroom sequence and the rooftop fight, and finally, they scaled it back to just the ballroom. A couple of other minor things they did in CG were carts and the rain during the fight sequence on the rooftop.

That is so cool to know! A CG rooftop fight scene would have been epic!

I'm glad it didn't happen. It would have aged the film terribly.

Something I have wondered for a long time is...in "Something There", why does Belle sing, "and so unsure"? What does being unsure have to do with becoming good, kind, nice, dear, what have you, that the Beast is becoming that she observes? I think it was just to rhyme with "before", because I can't think of a good reason for the word "unsure".

I think it means that he doesn't know how to be gentle and kind yet, and he's being super careful and maybe a bit clumsy, which is endearing to her. During the movie, when she sings that, he's trying to feed the birds, and he has a very confused and curious look on his face.

Any thoughts on this?

Yes, he’s unsure because he’s in the process of modifying his behavior. He’s trying to change and be a better a person but he’s not sure if he’s doing it right. His uncertainty is a positive sign to Belle because it shows he is working to be better.

Yeah, I think it just imparts that he is allowing himself to become unguarded for the first time in his life and feeling vulnerable and insecure for it.
