I saw many posts about this on Instagram, Tik Tok and Facebook. It's such a beautiful moment; I love how mrs. Benson smiles as her daughter sings "Part of your world", she's so proud of her.

Sometimes people ask you, you know, what's your favorite movie? And we always say it's like asking who's your favorite child. It's a really tough question to answer, but I would say Little Mermaid was special to me partly because I pitched it, partly because of the whole experience of it, it wasn't my first time as a director, but Great Mouse Detective was a little different kind of a thing.

This was like, this was where John and I wrote the script together and then Howard Ashman came in, and working with Howard and Alan and the excitement of this. There was just certainly, I think an atmosphere surrounding that project that felt like there was potential here. There was potential here that maybe hadn't existed on some of the other films, and if we could somehow fulfil some of that potential that we could really have something special.

I love how they're all so on-model, but the different coloring and shading gives it a different tone.

Oh, those videos are very cool! Thanks Farerb! Man, sometimes Glen Keane's animation was so rough and triangular, it's interesting how clean-up or final animation or whatever made it the final version!

The animators that made the inbetweening drawings made a great job and I'm sure that it wasn't easy. Glen's Key poses are caothic and the lines are not well defined. The animators that worked with him should have known much about the way that Glen uses to work to understand all his draws. Glen did a good job but the animators that were behind him did a really good job too. Without them the final resault wouldn't been possible.

Those have to be the most appealing illustrations from the movie I've ever seen. It kind of has a lilo and stich background feel, I guess becuase of the watercolor.
