That sounds like a boring idea for a song.
In any case, here are more details about the footage shown at CinemaCon.
The sequence shown was Moana singing โWeโre finally back to where weโre supposed to be.โ Sheโs revered by her friends and relatives for being friends with Maui. The song felt like an opening number.

The preview shows Moana, played by Auliโi Cravalho, taking off to the seas once again and singing a brand new opening number called โWeโre Back,โ celebrating Motunuiโs return to their heritage as explorers of the Pacific. Moana is now a living legend, with the villagers telling the kids of the tribe about how she met Maui in the first film.

In it, a new catchy song can be heard as Moana (Cravalho) charts her destiny aboard her boat. Of course, sheโs accompanied by her pig, Pua, and brainless rooster, Hei Hei. With the stars as their guide, Moana maps out her course back home to her beloved family and island. The song tells us that the animated featureโs titular character has become sort of a local legend as an expert navigator and bestie to the demi-God, Maui (Johnson). As she gets closer to shore, Moana runs into her father who meets her on the open ocean and challenges her to a race. Of course, she absolutely smokes him and is greeted by her friends and loved ones on the sands of her home island.

The CinemaCon 2024 "Moana 2" footage opens with Moana doing her thing on her boat, riding the waves with her pig pal Pua and having a great time. She says "we're back" before singing a new song about returning to her island. These characters are returning to tell their story โ and don't worry, Hei Hei the rooster is back, too. As she sings, there are dolphins in the sea jumping in the water and loving her tune. The action transitions to the island, and more people take over the song, which provides something of a recap of the first film. But now Moana and her people are building and expanding. The song is very classic Disney exposition in a sort of delightful way. Moana reunites with her dad on the island, and it's very sweet. A rapid-fire teaser closed things out, showcasing Moana in a strange cave, beating on a drum and it echoing back. There's a storm, and a voiceover says, "I don't know where your path will lead, but we never stop choosing who we are"ย as Moana looks upon a mysterious island. And of course, Dwayne Johnson's Maui shows up at the very end to ... slice off the tops of some very tall rocks with his magical hook weapon.

Moana sails the seas with her pet pig Pua and unintentional pet chicken Hei Hei keeping her company. The sequence felt like the opening of the film, with Moana singing about sailing home to Motunui. The song transfers to the island, where Moanaโs parents and villagers await her return. New, unnamed characters are introduced, including a young woman who seems inspired by Moanaโs sailing spirit, and a man who loves teaching kids about their princess and her adventures with Maui. As Moana gets closer, her dad is so excited to see her that he overcomes his fears and sails past the reef to meet her. In a sizzle of additional clips, we saw Maona back in the alcove hidden behind the waterfall where she found the ships in the first film. She uses a torch to examine a stone carving in the rock wall, which depicts a human on a boat. She bangs the drum Gramma Tala told her to hit in the first film, and hears a drumming back, but it ends up being Hei Hei. We see Moana sailing off on another adventure, and a brief shot of kakamora. And in a voice-over, we hear Gramma Talaโs spirit saying โI donโt know where your path will lead, but we never stop choosing who we are.โ
