Apparently the Wicked movies, parts 1 and 2, had only 10 days left of filming before the SAG actor's strike...but now the strike has ended! It should be done filming soon!

To tide us, I present a little sneak peek at the costumes:

You are very welcome! It is exciting! Can't wait for a trailer! I wonder if they will push the film back after the strike?

Looks better than expected. It's still sort of odd to me that they split it into two films, but hopefully they'll both end up being as good as this looks.

I agree, Divinity, this trailer made the first film look better than I expected! Cynthia Erivo actually looks college age, Ariana's acting may work, the production design and some shots look amazing! I'm glad Erivo's riff is good!

That teaser poster is also genius! How each woman touching their magic items together forms shadows that also make a "W". Brilliant!

Yeah, I was worried since Ariana's haircolor looked a bit off in her new music video, but she looks fine in the trailer.

😧 You’re green!”
“I am(?) 🤨

Seriously, this quote live’s rent-free in my head, it’s like Elphaba was mocking Glinda by asking her if she is. Anyways, I’m looking forward to watching this rather than Moana 2, sorry not sorry  :P The only thing I worry is that the story will be very rushed even if it is a 2-parter. Here’s hoping that it uses it runtime well 🤞 Also, I realized that I don’t know much about Wicked even if it’s so popular and I read the summary of the musical in the Wiki and damn it’s kinda dark. Ahh well…it’s not like it’s a Disney musical so I’m fine with it being that way and the more darker it is, the more I like it hehe

People think Elphaba is being sarcastic when she says, "I am". I didn't get it at first, though.

This doesn't look good to me. It's a step above the quality of the average Disney remake, but not by much. In fact, I think Disney's Oz: The Great and Powerful looked better. This looks too fake and green-screened. The dialogue is cringeworthy and the acting quite subpar. I think both main roles are horribly miscast and movies like this live and die by their casting choices. Regardless, I'm sure it will be a great success. The fanbase for Wicked/Oz is huge.

Thank you for giving your opinion. Even though I don't fully agree, I get you. I at least really think it looks much better than Oz: The Great and Powerful, but have you either seen or read Wicked to have an idea of what the trailer is previewing?

Thanks Sotiris! I still am left wondering how much you know about the Wicked story and why you thought Oz: The Great and Powerful looked better! Anyway, isn't the live vocals thing cool? And that a real made train takes Elphaba and Glinda to Emerald City?! Just like there is a real yellow brick road with mud and millions of planted tulips for Munchkinland. There are also lots of pictures in the Vanity Fair link.

That poster seems to reference Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam… which just feels like a reference for reference’s sake. It doesn’t seem to fit the story of Wicked? lol

On the other hand, I’ve liked the other stuff we’ve seen from the film. I am mostly worried about how it will work as a two-parter.

In The Creation of Adam, God and Adam are connecting. In this poster, Glinda and Elphaba are being torn apart.

I like the poster. I love the costumes and props.

By the way, Peter Dinklage is Dr. Dillamond.
