The dolls are starting to appear in stores. The basic one looks really cute and the dress has the sparkles that can be seen in one of the artworks posted a few days ago

Disney's Divinity wrote: โ†‘Fri Sep 15, 2023 7:59 pm I wonder if perhaps, if she travels anywhere, it's through various wish orbs (perhaps she goes inside them and they are their own imagined "world" in a way).
Oh, that hadn't occurred to me. Who knows, perhaps that's what she does. I wonder what those worlds would look like. She could also travel thanks to Magnifico's magic book. When the Teens break into Magnifico's castle, perhaps that's what they're after. Although, maybe the latter would be too similar to the book in the Beauty and the Beast remake.
Well, I thought early on there was some talk that she traveled through various Disney film-inspired worlds at one point and was pursued by a great darkness or something. At least, I wouldn't have expected her to spend much time in the "world" of other films, mostly a quick detour through maybe a design from another film or bumping into a character or something. Think the level of, say, Sebastian and Pinocchio appearing briefly in Aladdin via Genie's magic, for example.

I'll believe it when I see the heads up from Disney on social media.

If I don't see confirmation by tonight at 10-11, that means it's coming during the last week of September, kind of like how Disney rolled out the marketing for Frozen 1 at the end of September back 10 years ago in 2013.

It's pretty obvious that Dahlia works at the Royal kitchen and the teens will make a plan to infiltrate the castle in the third act to steal all wishes from Rosas

Maybe Dahlia is an adult (not by much but like 19 since Asha is 17) and that makes Dahlia the mother of the team

The Bashful-inspired Teen looks kind of creepy in the illustration on the back cover of one of the books because her eyes are too big for her face. Also, sheโ€™s really thin, almost too thin.

Thatโ€™s kind of like the scene in The Lego Movie where Emmet and the MasterBuilders sneak into Lord Businessโ€™s tower to put the Piece Of Resistance on the Kragle.

The less they market "The Teens" the better. Let me be appalled or surprised during the movie itself.

The expression of the Sneezy-inspired teen is what made me suspect so, but maybe I'm mistaken and it's another character who has a crush on someone, like the ones you mentioned.

Oh, I see. Yes, there was a synopsis featured on a couple of sites after the D23 Expo that mentioned Asha visits several worlds in the movie:
Wish follows Princess Asha and her goat Valentino from the Kingdom of Rosas as she meets a literal star and goes through an epic adventure among the stars through the various worlds to help save her people.
We weren't sure where that synopsis came from and didn't know if it was legit or not, especially since it said Asha was a princess, but now that we know there'll be some kind of journey in the film, it looks like it could be accurate after all.

I think you're right. That kitchen looks too big to be a normal one; it has to be the one from the castle. Besides, the "King Magnifico's Castle" Lego set already featured the castle's kitchen and Dahlia was included baking a pie; I don't know why I didn't make the connection back when that set was revealed.

Yes, she looks much better in the film itself.

I'm still amazed how the biggest next Disney movie is set in Europe, using culture, clothes etc and all that white people invented, with all main characters being non white, erasing them while using their own country and culture, and the only prominent white character being the evil guy - the first Disney had in a while.

Mind blowing. I can't imagine them making a movie set in Asia or Africa with all good main characters being white, so why do they think this is fine and everyone acts the same as well, when people would be screaming genocide if Disney had a white character in a setting where white people were a minority?

And if the goal was to have non white characters, what' the reason for even going out of their way to intentionally use a european setting and not set it in fictional China, Morocco or Kenya with the same diverse cast, especially since they could use the same flawed logic that these place were historically diverse at some point in the past and it would actually align with their agenda in putting non whites in front and the main characters would make more sense?

Edit: is that guy even spaniard/portuguese to get mad in our behalf?

What is even whiteness?

Why King Magnifico is considered white by him when he has the same skin tone as the rest of the brown characters

Spain has been always a diverse country, it's documented in history, the movie is set during the Al Andalus (or maybe after but around that time)

Spaniards are not white, spaniard is a nationality, millions of """"native""""" spaniards would never get considered white in the USA, there are many videos from spaniards living in the USA and not being considered white by the people.

So don't include us in your neon4z! idea of european racial purity supremacy

Spain is not white and will never be white (not even the indigenous iberos from pre-Roman times where white, they were dark-skinned)

Edit2:

Queen Amaya is so spaniard, she looks so valencian fallera mixed with "La Dama De Elche", also her name is very clearly based (at least I think) in the iconic Carmen Amaya

Not to get embroiled in this whole race thing, but since when are Spaniards not white?

I'm from a Mediterranean country, like Spain. We're white here. Maybe not as white as Sweden or Finland, but Caucasian nevertheless. I believe the same applies for other southern European countries including Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

Unless I am mistaken even northern African countries like Libya or Tunisia are technically white. Their skintone may be a bit darker than what you'll find in Southern Europe, but they're also Caucasoids.

I dunno ... :milkbuds:

Race is a social construct, nobody has a real definition of race because there's not one

Race is phenotype, and what phenotype is white or not is decided by the observer (the person that sees you) and not the observed person (you) so you can't really call yourself white, someone has to say you are (and it's individual so you can be white to one and POC to another)

That's why many people get called different nationalities/ethnicities while travelling and are racialized or not in certain regions of the world

Mediterraneans (as a whole) are sometimes racialized and some not

Look at Rachel Zegler, a USA girl of half Polish ancestry and half colombian ancestry, with her colombian side being FULLY iberian (just in case someone thinks colombian is a race) but people in this forum calls her brown, when she's racially and by phenotype mediterranean/iberian

Because race is a social construct, not something with a correct answer

Is it significant that Queen Amaya has a doll? Iโ€™m just surprised by that, but I donโ€™t have an encyclopedic knowledge of Disney dolls. But the only other times I can think of when a secondary, older female character was turned into a doll, they are usually villains, right? Maybe itโ€™s just because her costume is more princess-y than Ashaโ€™s?

I will definitely be buying a plush of the star character.
