I think it's interesting that a mermaid is involved with his attempts to become immortal. In a way, it sounds a bit of a reverse of HCA's "The Little Mermaid," with a human seeking immortal life here v. a mermaid who has long life but wants a soul in that tale. And it has the actress that I liked from POTC: Dead Men Tell No Tales!
