She has to be a scientist or an inventor in order to have some value in viewers minds, god forbids her weak feminine traits will be shown.
Yeah, I hope they don't twist Wendy's character much because the 2003 live-action film already showed you can have an empowered Wendy who isn't that far off from the book. Knowing Disney, they'll make her an inventor like Mowgli, Belle, and Clara. I'm only surprised they didn't make Maleficent an inventor as well so they could tick off every box when it comes to her.

But, I do want to point out, Cate Blanchett was in Cinderella and she in no way devolved into mediocrity. She even got nominated for Best Actress since then.
I used to think Cinderella set the standards for every other Disney remake but I fear it was just an outlier. It was one of the few (if only) remakes that didn't openly trash talk the original (unlike BATB, Aladdin, Maleficent, etc.) and the quality of the cast and the director remains unparalleled to this day. No other remake has matched the heights of this film and I doubt there will be one to do so.

 You always say stuff about that film that makes me so happy! I think I agree with everything! But what did they trash talk about Sleeping Beauty when they made Maleficent? Also, at least they didn't trash talk Alice in Wonderland, either.

I'm glad to hear that! With Maleficent, I remember they said something derogatory about Aurora not having a personality in the original film which wouldn't have bothered me so much if not for the fact that the Aurora in the remake was hardly any better. Strange they throw shade at a character created in 1959 when the 2014 version was frankly not even an iota more progressive or interesting. I don't remember anything negative said about the original Alice in Wonderland but I can't imagine what they would possibly say either.

Looks like Joaquin Phoenix is not going to be playing Captain Hook after all.

Good, Adam Driver is too gifted an actor to star in mediocre films like this.

DisneyFan97, you don't need to go into a rage when you disagree with someone. Remember, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Your tone (and the excessive use of emoji) is needlessly antagonistic. You need to learn how to express yourself in a civil, calm manner. No one will want to engage in dialogue with you when you're being aggressive and rude.

Kind of like the way you decided The Little Mermaid live-action will be mediocre before filming has started? Anywho, let me mind my business.

Actually I shouldn’t have said anything. You’re right. That was immature of me and I apologize, DisneyFan97. I was probably thinking of someone else.

Based on how Disney has treated Peter Pan in animated form, I have no faith they could do better with a remake especially when a far superior remake already exists and Disney had no hand in it. Anyway, if you don't like Adam Driver, shouldn't this news please you?

I can promise you that Reylo Twitter and Adam Driver stans are thrilled that he turned down this role. No one, including me, wanted to be forced to endure 2 hours of this just for Adam and now we don't have to luckily. We're all cognizant that Disney has bastardized Peter Pan once before and there's no need for us to sit through it again. And after how Disney has treated Adam, I'd hope he never works with them ever again since according to Martin Scorsese, Driver is the best actor of this generation. He doesn't need Disney as much as they clearly need/want him.

Jude Law is good choice, but honestly i rather hade Joaquin Phoenix in the role.

Next will be casting for Smee i asume.

Wonder who They Will cast

I think this movie might be good, i might even be better than the Animated Orginal.
