We've learned how Hans appears in the film. It's in the form of a memory during the Show Yourself sequence. So, no new footage or dialogue. His fans are in for a real letdown. Also, Iduna never had any powers.

Mattias used to have a musical number! I hope the demo is included in the deluxe edition of the soundtrack.
"I do not sing in the film, but I had to sing for the audition because there was a song that I was going to sing that ultimately they felt didn't fit in with the story," Brown revealed. Brown plays Lt. Destin Mattias, a high-ranking officer in an Arendelle military battalion that has been trapped in an enchanted forest for years and whom Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) encounter in the sequel. The actor shared some details about the cut sequence: "It was about when they first meet, when they get to the enchanted forest and he meets them," he explained. "Originally, he was in the forest by himself, isolated, and only had himself to talk to. So I would have scenes where I talk to myself and the whole thing, and then someone like Anna would chime in and I'd be like, 'I didn't say that. Did I say that?' It was interesting interplay, because I'd never heard another voice. So that went away and the song had to be re-conceived."

That's very disappointing news. I wonder why Santino reported that he had a role in the sequel so many years ago. Were there drafts of the film where he was involved at some point?

Medley of songs from the film in French from the French premiere. It seems the performers sing parts of "The Next Right Thing", "All Is Found" and "Show Yourself":

hey just really quickly, b/c suddenly Ive become really busy since I wrote this that I haven't had time to post back but I dont want to leave you hanging without some kind of a reply.
Well, there's a lot of avenues you can take with him that would highlight many of the themes that the first and second film had since Id agree that the sisters will always be made the focus and it would have to tie to them someway(unless you go the spinoff route which is a whole other thing and has its own untapped potential.) Nature vs nurture(Hans grew up in a very different family environment from the sister's loving family.) Being special/ important vs being ordinary or ignored, especially when you live all your life in a position where you may teeter b/w one or the other. The fact that we may often have to revisit and deal with people we hate once again in our lives(a possibility since Anna will be a queen and I assume at some point she may have to visit the Southern Isles.)How do you deal with that? Or what happens when you are in a crisis scenario where you may have to save a person you despise and tried to kill you once? how do you deal with that? these are all very vague ideas and I could go into detail but I don't have time right now, but you hopefully get the idea. Hans fans have had six years come up with head canons and storylines. Its been agony for us and this has been the only thing keeping us from going mad from the lack of new content with him. I mean they wont even let him appear in the comic books for goodness' sake!

I can tell from the orchestrations alone that these songs are going to be wonderful! :D

Yes! (back in 2014, 2015?) But it seems they scrapped all that eventually    That’s very disappointing news indeed.
I’ll regret this decision made by the writers likely forever and ever.

To my very humble opinion, I believe that, as for Loki from the Thor franchise, Hans deserves its own original series on Disney+!! And we should call it Hans, Prince of Mischief :D 8) 8) What a nice treat it will be :P He’d try to conquer a new kingdom every new episode

^really that would be the best option for all, a series set in the Southern Isles, away from Arendelle and the sisters. Would make the Hans fans happy, would make the Hans haters happy. 8)

I would love a Hans series outlining his childhood with his 12 brothers and parents and how he came to be the person we meet in Frozen. I know when The Frozen Heart book was released, a lot of Hans fans were really excited to get a look at the film's events from his point of view. They gave some details about Hans' life but people assumed that they were keeping most of his background information saved for the sequel but I guess not...

I imagine the difference between Elsa in the original Frozen and Ralph in the original Wreck-It Ralph would have been equally stark. Which is why WIR did peanuts compared to Frozen, SNS.

Ralph Breaks the Internet made $201 million in it's entire domestic run. Frozen 2 will pass that in it's first 10 days of domestic release.

Yeah, I definitely know which movie I'd rather watch from the billboard alone.

And do you really think that's because of the marketing and not the fact that the original Frozen made ~830$ millions more than the original Wreck-it Ralph? (And the first Frozen was marketed the same way Tangled and even Moana did, to the point where people thought it was "Tangled with snow".

I don't know what you expect, Ralph is a comedic character while Elsa is not.

Both the Original Frozen/WIR had comedic marketing, pop songs. As did BH6 & Zootopia. And ALL those features made more than Both Ralph movies. So clearly the comedy angle they were going for with Ralph didn't connect well with mainstream audiences. So maybe if Ralph 2 was marketed ala Frozen 2 "more serious" , it may have preformed better.

No, it wouldn't have. Wreck-it Ralph was never Disney's strongest film. It made less than all revival films except The Princess and the Frog. The sequel was bound to perform the way it did cause most people are not interested in Ralph or that franchise, which shouldn't have gotten a sequel in the first place based on the first one's performance and the only reason it did was because Disney was counting on product placement to bring people, which it didn't fortunately. Marketing had nothing to do with it.

I don't understand something about the promo trail for this movie ... all the cast and crew are talking about the 'long gestation' period for the film, as they were working so hard on the story to make it the best idea it could ever be ( etc etc blah blah blah ). But what they arne't mentioning is that in between there have been TWO short films ? One legitimate short put in front of Cinderella live action then a Holiday Special ... why are they all not saying anything about them ? 8) It's like 'yeah it took so long to do the actual Frozen II, but in between time we kept up with the sisters via celebrating Anna's birthday and enjoying Christmas. Do they not 'exist' in the Frozen canon at all ?

According to Jennifer Lee, they don't.

With the exception of When I am Older, the songs are good but less catchy than the first one's songs. The best song is Lost in the Woods.
