Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets a Signature Collection or some other named re-issue in Fall 2019 to tie in with Frozen 2. That would put it in the requisite five-year-window in which the re-issue would now fall under the jurisdiction of a catalog title and not a new release. And given that it was supposed to get an extras-heavy 3-D Blu-Ray release for late 2014 but that never happened (traces of it can be found in the Target bonus disc, which had a voice actors featurette that could clearly be a chapter within a larger documentary, and a few more deleted scenes not on the main release), I can see them just packaging that ready-made material (including "Frozen Fever" and "Olaf's Frozen Adventure"?) in a new disc, plus a sneak peek at the sequel.

I love that the original Beauty and the Beast has now breached into the Top 10. The timing of both of its Blu-Ray releases were very fortunate: 2010, when Disney more aggressively pushed the format and included worthy bonus features; and 2016, when Disney heavily promoted the silver anniversary and carryover buzz for the remake.

Disney Duster wrote:A lot of classics and good films mixed with what I think or at least assume is a lot of crap. It's kind of weird as well as disheartening. Pinocchio's not on there and it's widely considered Disney's most high quality film. I think Beauty and the Beast and Snow White are, though, so seeing them on here makes a lot of sense. At least my third favorite Disney film (Mermaid) made it in.

I don't know why Cinderella (1950) sold so poorly. My guess is because it was released not long before it got released again, not everyone has Blu-rays, and I guess it's not really one the most popular of the popular classics.
Pinocchio at least is a high seller when it comes to just Disney films. Anyway, as we all know in America these days, trash sells. Sometimes enough to even get it elected to the highest office. I'm glad Snow White and The Little Mermaid made it. I wonder how far off Aladdin is.

In the VHS days, the six most best-selling classics were all of the six main princess films but minus Sleeping Beauty, and The Lion King. So Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King. Clearly the film was popular then which only cements my belief that the DP franchise alienated the film, at least to the male gender. I'm sure most of the DP films suffered from this, but Cinderella as the central face got it the worst. And I can speak from experience since even I owned all the six classic DP films on DVD except for Cinderella. It came out during the time when I felt I was too grown-up for Disney and I thought Cinderella was too girly and childish. Yet, when The Little Mermaid came out later, I had no issue picking that up. I think Sleeping Beauty suffers a little bit from this too, because it doesn't have the benefit of Snow White for being the first Disney film and having lots of historical significance, nor is it from the 90s Big Four.

Yeah, I would love a proper release with so many more extras and featurettes, including the Frozen Broadway Show, Hyperion Show, and Epcot ride.

Thanks for telling me about the 6 best-selling Disney films. A reminder how big Cinderella was before. I had no idea you thought it was too girly and childish at a time. Can I have a little bit of history, like what films you liked as a kid and then "outgrew" and then liked again?

Beauty and the Beast being twice on the list is kind of cool. I wonder if the remake gave the original a boost.

Frozen should get a Blu-ray with the ABC making of. But they'll probably make a whole new making of someday and use that. If they could do a making of with the same quality and include the same information, that would be great. The Little Mermaid should get that Disney Channel making of too. And Cinderella the Masterpiece deluxe making of.

I was obsessed with Disney and Barbie as a kid but by the end of elementary school, it became considered babyish to like these things. Basically anything "character"-themed was considered babyish and would be made fun of. So I had to pretend not to like Disney and over time, I got other interests as well, so I wasn't really into Disney anymore. I already had the platinum editions for Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin, as well as the Special Edition DVD for Sleeping Beauty. When Cinderella's platinum edition came out, I wasn't interested in Disney anymore, so I skipped out on it. The Little Mermaid being my absolute favorite though, was a film that I ended up buying when it came out as a platinum edition some time after Cinderella. That actually briefly got me interested in Disney again. Anyway, I did end up buying the Cinderella DVD from Ebay a few years back just so I could complete my collection. It felt weird to have the others on DVD and not Cinderella. It wasn't until high school, ironically enough, that I got back into Disney mainly because I spent a month during vacation with some younger cousins of mine who like Disney so it reignited my interest and I've been hooked back ever since. Pretty sure that was the year that Brave and Wreck-It Ralph came out.

Yeah, I'm sure the remake of BATB gave the animated one a boost.

Disney has so many special making of featurettes from over the years that they just promptly ignore. Some that never got past the Disney Channel, and a few others that were on VHS or laserdisc, but never made it onto DVD.

Wow, glad you came back to Disney! Me, I never strayed. Honest to God. Lol. I did sometimes pretend to dislike it, but always secretly saw and bought the Disney movies I wanted.

Yeah, we should get the info from all those featurettes in the latest home video releases. But that's a pipe dream. If only Disney let Criterion get ahold of their titles.

I think re: Zootopia, one reason it doesn't rank so high is because of Netflix. Granted, Finding Dory and BATB 2017 do still rank higher than it while also being on there, but that's not too surprising, given that they were both more popular stateside (while I believe worldwide, Zootopia and Dory were neck and neck in terms of box office). But yeah, one advantage Frozen had is that it didn't stream on Netflix only a couple of months later, and I don't think it's ever been on there.

Forgot about Netflix but definitely true. Not to mention, that Zootopia is the first of a series while Dory and BATB already have established fanbases from decade(s) past. So a casual buyer is more familiar with these films than Zootopia. Also it's possible that Zootopia being a "detective mystery" may not have as much replay value as say Frozen or Finding Dory.

Yeah Frozen has never been on Netflix. The deal Disney made with them ensured that all films from 2016 onwards would end up on Netflix. So Star Wars: The Force Awakens barely missed the cut.

Nice to see B&tB in the top 5. I can't believe TLK didn't at least make top 10 (and a shame TLM wasn't at least top 20. :( ).

Fitting that HP&DH Part 1 is the highest-ranking film from the franchise when ranked separately. It was one of the best one of the films, imo; the visual depiction of "The Tale of the Three Brothers" was so haunting and beautiful.
