DVDs work on Blu-Ray players you need to accept that fact. If you can you should definitely upgrade to a Blu-Ray player you'll love it

You've got to be kidding, DVDs work in Blu-Ray players I live in the US my DVDs work fine in my Blu-Ray player why can't you grasp that concept.

The first Blu-ray players were made with two diodes units (laser and lens), one for Blu-ray, one for CD and DVD. Sony, I believe, figured out how to use a single Diode unit capable of emitting three different wavelengths. That's the basic explanation. Companies like Sony wanted new players to be backwards compatible, so as not to discourage people with DVD collections.

Also, if you want confirmation, with proof, then check the product box when buying a player or ask to see the manual. You can also check manufactures websites for product specifications.

Oh, for goodness sake. If a Region 2 DVD can play in a Region B Blu-ray player, then by that very logic, a Region 1 DVD will play in a Region A Blu-ray player.

This is impossible.

You're still missing my point. The technology is the same. The technology to make a Region 1 DVD play in a Region A Blu-Ray player is the SAME as a Region 2 DVD playing in a Region B Blu-Ray player. So a video of one would be applicable to another. By posting the video, I was showing you the very technology you were asking for (if a DVD could play in a Blu-Ray player). Introducing the whole issue of region coding was your doing, because you could not grasp that a technology applicable for ALL regions would work for ALL regions provided each region was the same.
