New Mickey Mouse Club?

Post by The_Iceflash »

Who would like to see a new Mickey Mouse Club for this generation? I think since this is a big nostalgia time for Disney that this would be a great idea. Would you like any of the current Disney stars on it or would you like to see all fresh faces? Who would you like to see host it?

Share your ideas for a new Mickey Mouse Club.

I'm not dying for a new MMC...I enjoyed the last incarnation very much when I was a kid, though. I don't think that current Disney stars should be on it, though- it's just a feeling. Give new kids a chance, I guess.

I'd be all for it. But there's a small % of kids today that don't know who MICKEY MOUSE is outside of Mickey Mouse clubhouse show for preschoolers, unless they know of Mickey through Parents, Aunts/Uncles, or trips to WDW/WDL.

However, I doubt Disney Channel would actually create it or air it. They used to air the original mickey mouse club late at night when I first got DC (back when it was a PREMIUM channel) but they stopped doing that by 2003 or 2004 I think.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Even if kids only know Mickey as the mascot, kids know who mickey is. I myself didn't have the Disney channel growwing up. I don't recall ever seeing any cartoons with him in it until House of Mouse came around. So I'm not sure why I was a fan early on, but I was. I mostly watched Looney Tunes, as it was the best cartoons available to me outside of feature length stuff.

Also, I never went to Disney world until I was like, 16 (I'm 21 now).
yet I was still very aware of these characters despite this.

I think a lot of this stuff about how some kids don't know who he is is greatly exaggerated. You don't need to see his shorts to know who he is.

As for the question, I dunno, depends on how it was handled. You'd probaby get the same Miley Cyrus type kids though.

I heard about this. I don't care either way, however I did find it interesting how they want to use Facebook to display it. I wonder how much FB is paying Disney to do that?
