The Boxtrolls (Laika)

I don’t know why I only just now got around to seeing The Boxtrolls. I’ve had it on my Netflix queue since it became available, but I guess I kept pushing it back in favor of other things. The movie was horribly marketed, because I assumed it would be a total bore and the only reason I ever intended to see it at all was the fact it was made by Laika. Now I wish I’d watched it sooner, because I loved it. The story and characters were fantastic, and the animation/designs were gorgeous. Everything was so bizarre and hilarious—movies like this that don’t try to suit the taste of every single person in the audience are something I miss. Laika’s three for three.
