Wow, you must be really perceptive when it comes to bootlegs, DG! They all look pretty authentic to me. Just out of curiosity, which are fake?

Bootlegs

Post by Disney Guru »

The DVD of Little Mermaid is a bootleg, I think the DUMBO might also be a bootleg. I don't think the Sleepign Beauty is Authentic. But I am deffinate that Little Mermaid is a Bootleg DVD. I suspect DUMBO, and Sleeping Beauty of being, bootlegs also.

As far as I can see, only "The Little Mermaid" is a bootleg. Besides that, congratulations for your collection!

Lots of dual region releases! I see two regions of Lizzie McGuire movie and Freaky Friday for example!
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I'm not talking about the coverart, I'm talking about the DVD plastic cases themselves. Your Lion King cases look orange! Did you change the cases to make them match the coverart colors or did they come that way?

Oh, and now I can see the Joe statue! At least a piece of hat... I think!
oh they are not orange they're reddish brown. It was my doing :P

The only one that looks like a potential bootleg to me is TLM LE, but I don't know what the release looked like over there.

The Little Mermaid bootleg caught my eye too, probably because I always look to see if others have it, since it's the only dvd I'm missing.

The Little Mermaid is the only bootgleg, the others are 100% original...i Dumbo is original and The Sleeping Beauty too.. ( that is the cover for the mexican release. it was released here a few months before it was in the US)

i have dual regions, because my little sister doesn't speak english, so i had to buy them again, when they were released here with the Spanish trck

Try Ebay. I don't know if you'll find it since it was a limited issue thing but you never know someone's prob getting rid of it.

What's the BatB box called, MMb? What was it listed as in the order form, or what does it say on the box itself? Accurate names and labels of things help with eBay searches - the more specific, the better! :)

Do you think you could snap a photo of it (maybe from different sides ;))? Is it pretty plain, or a bit fancy? I'm not interested in getting it, of course - but now my curiosity's piqued.

It's called the Beauty and the Beast Collection. It's not a fancy box, It looks like the fantasy anthology box.

I think most of us here tried to order one, too. I ordered one and it took weeks and weeks for me to finally get...a notice that they ran out and a refund for the shipping. Grr...I think more people responded to it than they thought would so they didn't make enough. I'm kind of glad that I didn't get one though otherwise I would've bought the horrible Belle's Magical World for the sake of completion.

BTW...Great collections JCG and MMB. I likes seeing the multiregional covers and your great figure collection, MMB! Lumiere asked, and I'll ask again...where did you get them? Were they at Disney World or a McDonald's toyline? They're awesome! :)

Heh, I still have yet to post my collection. We're picking up my sister next week and also picking up our digital camera batteries so then you'll all see my collection soon!
