Feel free to spread this rebuttal on Tumblr or anywhere else online!1. The image is photoshopped. That's pretty obvious. Ask anyone who knows even the basics about photo manipulation and they'll tell you right away.
2. The blogger used the fan-made logo for Giants found on Disney Wiki.
3. The Tumblr user in question claims that this image was "leaked from a recent press junket". However, this image is nowhere else to be found other than this person's blog. Also, there haven't been any recent press junkets inside the Hat Building. The most recent one was a bloggers event in February for the release of Frozen on home video and having followed that event on Twitter, I can assure you nothing of the sort was leaked. Besides, at the studio they don't allow photographs beyond a certain point to prevent leaks. They wouldn't let anyone photograph proprietary information like that. Moreover, If you ever visited the studio or seen tours of it, you would know that they don't put up on their walls a list of the projects they have in development.
4. There isn't a WDAS slated for 2017 according to Disney's release schedule. Moana is currently scheduled for release on September 03, 2018.
5. It claims that Jeniffer Lee is co-directing Dean Wellins' untitled space film. This was brought on by Lee's comments that she someday wants to direct a sci-fi film. However, she most recently said that she and Chris Buck will remain partners and that they plan to start developing new projects together in the summer.
6. Both Dean Wellins' space film and King of the Elves are stuck in development hell. They wouldn't be ready for release in 2018 as the blogger claims.
7. Chris Williams left the director's position on King of the Elves in 2012 to work as a story artist on other projects. He's now co-directing Big Hero 6. He couldn't be overseeing the development of two films at the same time.
Not really. They never do anything when there's false information circulating the media about upcoming projects. They only care when official stuff gets leaked. When concept art for an early '00 version of the Snow Queen was circulating and presented as recent artwork for Frozen, they didn't do anything. When this fan-made Frozen logo was constantly being reported as authentic, they didn't do anything. When it was falsely reported that Musker & Clements were working on an adaptation of Rumpelstiltskin, they didn't do anything. When the fake logo for Moana was passed around as an official one, they didn't do anything. Never issued a single statement to set the record straight.unprincess wrote:This might be a good thing though. With all the fake stuff floating around, maybe it will force Disney to finally give us some info on their upcoming plans. They hate it when there's a lot of misinformation going around online.
And not to mention, THIS is still here:Sotiris wrote:Not really. They never do anything when there's false information circulating the media about upcoming projects. Nah! The crew of Frozen were just suprised by the obsessive nature of the fans.unprincess wrote:this might be a good thing though. In that situation, the crew would also laugh. Fan-art can be retraced and deemed unofficial easily. Even if the fan-art looked like a fair representation of concept art, Disney wouldn't press charges. And no one with skill and reputation like Kawena would troll like that.unprincess wrote:really? youd think theyd worry that it would give folks preconceived notions about what the films will end up being & may disappoint them when it ends up being completely different. Imagine if someone like David Kawena wants to troll everyone by releasing 2d Moana art discreetly & claiming (posing as as an insider or Disney artist)its concept art for a 2d version of the film & everyone's excited that Disney's making a 2d style fairytale again with art rivaling that of HOND & Pocahontas. And then Disney releases their offical art for the film & everyones disappointed b/c its the same ol cgi crap with generic Pixie Hollow designs. I think that would be a pain in the buttz for Disney(or at least the animators who are working on the actual film).
That's so exciting!Warm Regards wrote:Guuuuys...
Source: http://ging-ler.tumblr.com/post/7983011 ... alt-disneyUpdated Disney (Walt Disney Animation Studios, not Pixar) animated movies lineup.
Moana has been moved up to 2017 and renamed Spirited, which is good news for us since it means it’s doing well in production!
The untitled teen space race movie has been given a presumably temporary name, Galactic. Jennifer Lee is set to co-direct this one.
King of the Elves seems to be dong well and is set for a 2018 debut. It has been shelved for years, but was recently put back in production and even competed with Frozen for a release date at one point!
Otherwise, all else seems to be the same and hopefully doing well. I’m excited for to see how everything progresses!
(Photo not mine. This was leaked from a recent press junklet)
The list has been confirmed to be fake.Lady Cluck wrote:That's so exciting!![]()

Such a long wait though
I can't stand the title Spirited thoughSo similar to multiple other animated movies. Unlike Rapunzel and the Snow Queen, Moana itself is actually an intriguing title.
