What are you talking about? "Be A Man" is a work of art!

To be honest, I don't know how tongue-in-cheek that statement was. The song sort of rocks!

"I'll Make A Man Out of You" leads off one of the Classic Disney CDs, and if ever I'm driving one of my cousins around, she insists that we blast the song and sing it out as loudly and obnoxiously as possible.

(and since I'm responding to you, Renata, I must tell you that occasionally we'd also sing "Elephant Love Medley" from Moulin Rouge!)

Anyways, I can't really think of the worst Disney songs...aside from the needs-no-explanation main title song for The Boatniks.

Wow, you are one of the first people which I've heard who claims that Lion King is terrible. Why don't you like it?
It is overrated- you have to admit that!

The animation is stunning, but most of the characters are obnoxious and irritating. Especially young-Simba. Seriously- if I want to hear that grating little imp voice, I'll just freaking pop in a Home Improvement disc. The songs (except for a little more than half of "Be Prepared") are not really good. They're either overproduced, poorly sung, or are so irritating that when you see anyone singing them or dancing along with them, you want to poke both your eardrums out, and then gouge out your eyes, with a sharp object. And then... the fart jokes (both sound and dialogue). Again, even when I was 11 (my age when the film came out) I didn't think this garbage was amusing, clever, or funny. Then, the story is overbearing and sloppily put together. They're playing empty emotions. For people who are easy to manipulate. Just because James Earl Jones and Jeremy Irons are trying to be sophisticated in this silly parade of ridiculousness, does not make up for everyone else's lameness.

Ideal example: why would anyone hire the brilliant Rowan Atkinson if you can't see his face? He's hired for a comedic role and has one of the most famous faces in comedy. The only justification for this casting is Black Adder, where he talks a lot. Apart from that, everyone knows Mr. Bean barely speaks. And when he does, his voice is much deeper than Atkinson's natural voice.

There isn't one song I dislike in Disney, except for the Princess and the Frog, horrible music, and I really didn't like the film either. Disney should of stayed with the original frog prince story. But wtv.

Maybe it's because I've never actually seen HoND, but I actually like "A Guy Like You". Much like Scarred4life said earlier, its timing in the film does it no favors, but out of context I find it a rather cute and enjoyable song.

Back to the subject...

- Any of The Princess and the Frog's in-movie songs. Not even "Friends on the Other Side". *shields self for rain of bricks/rotten fruits*
- Most of Tangled's songs, especially "I've Got a Dream". I could make an exception for "I See the Light", but personally I think that song would have worked a tad better as a self-discovery solo than as a love song.
- "Les Poissons" -- I'm gonna have to agree with you guys, it's nothing short of pointless. If anything, they should have cut out Chef Louie entirely. I could also mention "Daughters of Triton" like jpanimation did, but I can excuse that one since, in-universe, it was probably meant to be a longer number.
- "Hakuna Matata" -- An appropriately-annoying song for a duo of annoying characters.

I'll try to give this a go.

All of The Princess and the Frog's songs, (except "Almost There" and "Dig a Little Deeper") because Randy Newman's music and lyrics are really dull and lifeless that makes me dooze off a little and want to tell them to please end.

"A Guy Like You" from Hunchback is really bad and very out of place.

Brother Bear's songs are also pretty poor and especially sad since Phil Collins did so much better in Tarzan that in Brother Bear it's really annoying.

Well I can't think of anything else that I hate.. Oh wait Home on the Range... man I hate that movie...

Well maybe I have awful taste in music but I generally enjoy most Disney songs.

However to really point out some:

-Whistle While You Work: it's just so...bright and cheery and obnoxious. And LONG, too long a scene. If it was shorter i'd like it more.

-Most of the Lion King songs (also Morning Report), sans Be Prepared (and that's only for the climax). I prefer Elton John's versions of Circle of Life and Can You Feel the Love. Tbh I much prefer things like Shadowland or Endless Night.

-The Fox and the Hound songs: ummemorable

-Trashin' the Camp

-Most songs from the Sword in the Stone, aside from maybe the opening/ending credits and What Makes the World Go Round.

-Most songs from the Aristocats and Robin Hood.

-Rumbly in my Tumbly- too "cutesy" and "pwecious" to me

-Good Company

-Let me be Good to You

-Little Toot

-Gonna Take You There- i can't even remember the proper melody to this song

-The Three Musketeers' music: I like All For One, but I think the film would've worked better with their own original music instead of borrowing the classics.

-Love to Laugh- too slow and not very memorable when compared to the other songs of the film.

-Pink Elephants on Parade- I don't even know why people think this is scary.

-Happy Working Song- i know it's a parody of whistle while you work, but again, super upbeat and cheery/obnoxious.

And I actually like A Guy like You! And I think the songs from A Goofy Movie and most of the Package films have their certain charm. :P

I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones I'm thinking at the moment.

Sleeping Beauty- I wonder So forgetful and unmemorable and nothing special. Feels like a rip off of most Snow White songs too

Lion King- I Can't Wait to be King So annoying and obnoxious and also you can't wait for your Father to die ? Looks like you get your wish Simba, whoops ?
- Can You Feel the Love Tonight- The Elton John version is FANTASTIC and so passionate ! The movie version ? Ugh, what cheese and T & P at the beginning and end ? Talk about spoiling a wonderful song with bad jokes.

Oliver and Company- Perfect isn't easy Terrible song and rather un-needed to be in the movie, we can already tell that Georgia is narcissistic by her character. Feels basically written and sang as well.

HOND- A Guy Like You Oh you are so going to get the girl Quasi ! She despises the knight type ! Oh she's kissing the hell out of " That Knight Guy she oh-so-hates ".... Whooops, well that song was pointless !

Pink Elephants on Parade Most people here love this song and animation due to it being creative, but I hate it. Too creepy and out of context of what's meant to be a emotional yet soft courage movie. This belongs in The Yellow Sub; not Dumbo.

Most cheap straight to DVD Sequel songs The only song I like is " Second Rate " From Return of Jafar and " Love Will Find a Way " LK II the rest are bad as the movies they come from.

Trashing the Camp- Tarzan Ugh, one of the worst from Disney.

Mulan- Girl Worth Fighting For - Lame song and do we REALLY need to know that the army is feeling horny Disney ? No, no we don't. Poor Mulan.

Gaston- Beauty and the Beast - I don't like it all and hating Gaston doesn't help. It reminds me of those people that everybody likes despite them being jerks in real life. Sigh.

Tangled Songs Liked the movie, hated the songs. Sorry. I only liked Mother Knows Best Reprise. The rest was awful. Mandy Moore made the songs feels too pop and not like a actual Disney movie as well; like Disney tried to hard to be hip and cool. I See The Light felt disappointing imo and didn't have emotional like Whole New World or Beauty and the Beast.

All Toy Story/ Pixar Songs Badly written, badly sang and usually 100 per cheesy. Yes even " Friend In Me " One of the most Overrated songs in Pixar/ Disney history imo.

Isn't that the point of the song "Gaston" though that they all love Gaston as the town hero though we, the viewers, know of how much he is a tremendous jerk. I'm suprised you hate that song for that is one of Howard Ashman's most funniest lyrics he has ever written, I still laugh at this song after all these years.

I guess I somewhat agree about Tangled's songs but only because that with the exception of I See the Light, the rest of them are quite forgettable. Which is kind of sad because I love Alan Menken's work, I still friggin hate Newman's work on TPATF.

Thank goodness that Robert Lopez and his wife made such great songs in Frozen though.

I have to come to the defense here. Daughters of Triton is not a book number. It is a quick tongue in cheek homage to Gilbert & Sullivan chamber music, and anyone who know G&S knows that Ashman & Menken succeeded in spades. It's brilliant.

Not all musical numbers need to be book-numbers or break away pop hits. The best musicals can work in campy "moments" too. Besides Ashman's tragically short career, Sondheim seems to be one of the very few, until Lopez, who has utilized this much in the modern age.

I feel the same way about Reindeer(s) Are Better Than People from Frozen. It's not meant to be compared to the likes of Let it Go. It's a simple, beautifully funny garnish. :)

I must sadly admit I don't care for most Disney songs post- Pocahontas..I love just about everything pre-1995. Haven't heard the Frozen songs yet, but I doubt they'll impress me.

And now I think I should add "Let It Go" to my personal list. Like I stated in the main Frozen thread, it sounds more like a cut song demo than anything, and Idina Menzel's vocals came out downright cringe-worthy, to the point that the song would work better as score. And then there's the fact Disney keeps shoving it down our throats, nominating it for awards and giving it a pop version and whatnot, as if it's the only song in the movie.

"Skumps" from Sleeping Beauty . Whenever I watch the film, or listen to the soundtrack, I skip that one (IMO, it just ruins the movie).

Oh my goodness yes ! Such a funny little song and doesn't fit into the film.

And I really really loathe 'Fixer Upper' from Frozen. Again to me personally, it doesn't fit and the time slot could have been a song for someone else.

I envy you all so badly if your least favorite is Colors of The Wind. These are my worst songs.
Like Other Girls (Mulan 2)
I'll Stick With You(Hunchback 2...actually all the songs from that movie are beyond terrible!)
Just One Mistake(The Little Mermaid Ariel's Beginning...worst villain song ever...)
Skups from Sleeping Beauty I DO agree with...pure pointlessness

I really try hard to remember the song 'Skumps' from Sleeping Beauty but it doesn't ring a bell! Maybe I just should watch the movie again. Please tell me: during which scene in the movie is this sung?

Haven't seen Frozen yet, looking forward to it!

Skumps is sung by Kings Stefan and Hubert as they're toasting Phillip & Aurora's engagement on the occasion of Aurora's return to the castle on her 16th birthday. The mandolin player/page gets bombed from sneaking some of the wine and passes out. I always thought it was a cute song/scene and added to the Kings' personalities.

That's the worst Disney song for me. They didn't need a song. Why couldn't the gargoyles have been doing a play about Quasi (Hugo) hiding Esmerelda (Laverne) in different places from Frollo (Victor) to cheer up Quasimodo till the real Esmerelda showed up to hide Phoebus?

I like Let It Go, the slow opening is a bit drawn out but by the end is pretty good. The orchestration in the World of Color versions blows me away, though.

I'd be lying If I'd said I don't listen to this song often.
