Hm... I'm definitely happy that we actually got footage from the movie, and I especially love that they changed the last scene (it's different from the app).

I will say this though. This trailer makes the movie look like a generic kids comedy. It doesn't introduce us to the plot, it doesn't introduce us to the characters (Elsa mostly) and most of all, it is perfect proof that this movie will be more about Anna's journey than Elsa's.

Nonetheless, I really really want to see the movie now. I love the wolves.. the fricken wolves. I can already see people complaining about Anna and Kristoff's relationship though. It's similar to that of Flynn and Rapunzel's.

I love the scene with Olaf's head being thrown around. Turns out I might like this character after all..

Kinda torn on the trailer.

On one hand, we hear the Duke, Oaken and Hans (<3) speak. We also see a bit of the humor and a touch of heart with the Olaf scene. And maybe it's just me, but I liked the "ice guy" and "nice guy" captions for Kristoff and Hans respectively. Oh, and the pretty landscapes (can't wait to see the official version next week just to get HD screen caps.)

On the other hand, this trailer seems to be focused on Anna more so than Elsa. I know that trailers are not indicative of character screentime, but Elsa was barely in this. In addition, there's no mention of the plot outside of "we need to end winter." If I didn't know any better, I would have thought Elsa made winter in July just for the heck of it because she's "evil", when it's really much more complex. And no mention of the songs either, though I've come to expect that.

Also dislike that "Or No Man" caption. Gee, Disney, there's two potential love interests for Anna (three if Olaf is somehow counted...). We're not that dense. :P I get they're trying to push the sister angle, but come on, we didn't even see the sisters together, or hear Elsa speak.

My expectations were probably too high. But I am thankful that Disney has at least tried with this trailer. I personally would have injected a bit more drama (particularly concerning Elsa's powers), but hey, it's good. That being said, I wonder when France/ Japan will get their full trailers.

I wonder if our version will be different?

Maybe we'll get a couple of extra scenes.

I seriously doubt it. :/ Austrillia had the same teaser as us. And of course, Japan might get a big, epic one with actual footage of Elsa :glare: :glare: :glare:

I actually liked the trailer. Yeah, at some point I felt it was just showing random scenes instead of really showing the plot, but It's something.
What does Oaken say? I can't understand him, I just heard something about "July"
I also liked, when they "introduce" Kristoff, that they show the Ice harvesters. The way they sync obviously shows that scene is part of their musical number.
Also the tiny Elsa scene that appears after Anna says "That's my sister!" is part of Let It Go. You can see her kind of singing.

Fantastic trailer. Anna and Kristoff seem like great characters.

I really enjoyed the trailer, though couldn't help but be a bit disappointed that Elsa was hardly in it at all and there wasn't a lot there pointing to the importance of the relationship between the sisters. From what was shown though, I found all the characters to be likable and interesting, and I was one of those a bit nervous about Olaf to begin with, and can't wait to see more of them when the film comes out. They do appear to be marketing it as a fairly generic comedy, which probably draws kids in, but I'd be extremely disappointed if there wasn't more depth to the actual film than the trailer gives the impression of.

It's been a long while since I've been this excited for an upcoming Disney feature, it's very hard not to get my expectations up too much!

Ok, so I've seen the trailer so many times and this what I think the marketing will be from now on.
Disney will only market this movie in 2 ways:
1) A comedy aimed at children of all age. A generic comedy.
2) A romantic comedy aimed at those who are interested in that.
I honestly don't see them marketing this under anything else, especially the sisters thing. They want this movie to succeed. Which hopefully it will. I'm just sad that the trailer only mentions tangled and doesn't mention wreck it ralph.

Pretty sure that's because Ralph didn't do that well in Australia. Noticed that some international marketing omitted mentions of Ralph whereas US marketing tended to mention both those films.

Anyway, some new images leaked over at somethinganimated.tumblr

I love that picture of Elsa in the dungeon.

This definitely won't be mostly Anna's story. I think they want Elsa to remain kind of mysterious, but I'm sure we'll see more later.

Are some people seriously think Olaf dies at the end of the movie ??? Anyway, for the trailer, i have nothing to say. We knew it, i've said it. It's just a trailer. That Movie IS Dramatic, with sacrifices, deaths and tragic feelings at every corner. All spoilers showed it. The trailer doesn't show it, of course ! Don't u know the rule ? Good to see there will be a lot of good humor to balance, and NOT ONLY from Olaf. Good. It's filled with energy, details, charming funny ideas and dialogues...

I agree about being happy to see the other characters other than Olaf being funny. My ONLY complaint about Tiana as a character is that she was surrounded by MANY larger than life hilarious characters and she barely got any funny moments for herself. Still love her otherwise though.

Rapunzel got more humor infused in to her character so it's no surprised the masses liked her more. That's not the only reason but it did make her more endearing.

It looks like Anna will be getting even more since she's supposed to be kind of awkward, which doesn't surprise me since Kristen Bell has great comedic instincts.

I think the main reason Elsa isn't in that trailer much is because she's more of a serious character and the heart of the story. The diehard fans that like the emotional depth aspects of Disney are gonna love her, but I can see why they're trying to appeal to little kids and people who want light-hearted fun.

I'd probably think Elsa was the villain if that was all I had to go on which makes me wonder...

Maybe they want that to be the case to keep the Hans = villain surprise under wraps

One certainly gets that impression from the trailer. Their other marketing endeavours seem to undermine that, however, with all the Elsa merchandise around.

Q: You’ve also got the upcoming Disney animated musical, “Frozen.” Do you have any songs in it that you think are going to become one of those iconic Disney classics?

Jonathan Groff: Idina Menzel plays the ice queen sister of Kristen Bell, who’s the lead girl, and they played me a song Idina sings that I get chills thinking about. I think it’s going down in the books as one of those classic songs that kids will grow up singing [and] we're going to hear the last 16 bars of all over the audition rooms of New York. I don't want to build it up too much, but she sings a song in the movie that feels like it’s going to be a big deal.

To be honest, I think the art form of creating amazing trailers, teasers etc, is a lost skill....

Quite often they are a random assortment of the best bits of the film, revealing way to much of the plot. Or extremely loud and 'epic' with generic titles / phrases flashing up on the screen.

With animated films, they tent to follow the random assortment of scenes, with all the funny crammed in where they can, so you feel you have gathered most of the film already.

The thing is, if they don't reveal much from the plot, the movie maybe doesn't look that interesting.
Imagine a Tangled traler (I know the actual ones suck) where we don't learn that Rapunzel comes out of the tower.
I actually didn't really liked Wreck It Ralph when I saw the very first trailer (the "I get a good feeling" one). I mean, it looked like a cool movie, but not that epic or really good. I remember I got surprised because of the games characters, but that was the only thing that got my attention. Then I loved the movie when I first watched it, but the things I loved can't be shown in the trailer (Turbo, Ralph being Vanellope's hero, all the glitch plot, the ending, "If that little kid loves me, how bad can I be?").
I'm happy with the trailer because at least we have some new scenes, some quotes from the movie (I loved Olaf's), and It's not as hideous as Tangled trailers were. At least this one shows the lead (Anna) more than just 2 seconds. We don't get much of Elsa, but I think it's good we get that mystery so then what Elsa goes through can be a surprise.

Here's my argument: Elsa is being plastered all over merchandise alongside Anna. It's not really a mystery if she's good or bad. At least, I never saw a "villain" so marketed before the movie came out. :| If Disney wanted to play up the "evil sister" angle, they could have chosen clips where she's particularly menacing. So in my eyes, there was no reason to give her little presence in the trailer.

Truthfully, I was look forward to gearing Idina Mendel as Elsa. Maybe they'll do what they did with Tangled and Wreck-it Ralph, and show a scene with the sisters or something.
