Promo.

I cant tell if how much if any of this is from the special itself. It kinda feels like its mostly an ad for an internet provider that happens to mention the special. Looks like they got Jim Hanks for this rather than tom to play woody, but Tom is confirmed for the real thing isn't he?

Yeah, Tom is confirmed.
Does he just get his brother to do Woody when he can't, or does Tom only do the movies / shorts ?

I think the former.
And regarding that clip, I'm starting to get convinced it's an ad like Kyle said.

Yeah, it's an advert for Sky broadband services in the UK, it's been on TV here the last couple of weeks.
Lie with passion and be forever damned...

Perhaps to justify them making a Toy Story 4 at some point in timeatlanticaunderthesea wrote:This is being advertised EVERYWHERE in the UK at the moment ! Am really surprised at what a push its getting.

How do you mean? Seeing if there is still interest in the franchise?

Basically. The could say something like due to the overwhelming reception of Toy Story of Terror, we have decided to pursue Toy Story 4.atlanticaunderthesea wrote:How do you mean? Seeing if there is still interest in the franchise?

Its not like they need a reminder that there's still interest in the franchise, TS3 wasn't that long ago.
Re: Toy Story of Terror! (TV Special)
It's not so much how long ago it was, but if there is the viewership and the want to see more from the gang etc.
Personally, I think it could be a little bit of a dangerous game to commit to TS4; it's widely regarded as the best trilogy of films ever produced...really don't want that to be tainted by an under-par fourth. I mean heck, it could be amazing! But it isn't a risk I want them to take. The shorts are enough for me; they retain the charm, wit and humour of the films without them possibly buggering up things by creating a fourth.

Yeah no need for TS4. Just stick with making the shorts and a TV special here and there. They're good enough.

Incidentally, does anyone know how it came about that Tom Hanks brother voices Woody every now and again? I'm sure he's talked about it, just couldn't remember the reasoning! Is it just availability ?

Looks good so far.
"from the studio that brought you toy story 3"
Lies. This is Pixar Canada, not the same studio that does their features.

Re: Toy Story of Terror! (TV Special)
Interesting article, thank you for posting. I am really excited for this, hope it lives up to previous Toy Story films / shorts...
Re: Toy Story of Terror! (TV Special)
Just to clarify - Pixar Canada did NOT produce this. This was made at good old Pixar in Emeryville. (Although I wouldn't be surprised if at least some work was done in Canada).
http://blogs.indiewire.com/animationsco ... m=facebookContrary to internet rumors, the entire production for Toy Story of TERROR! took place at Pixar’s Emeryville studio, rather than its Vancouver-based subsidiary. Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich helped guide the project by approving each sequence from layout and editorial perspectives.
