I don't want anymore sad stories ever. After getting emotional over that stupid James Bond movie in which a bride gets brutally killed on her wedding night the last thing I need is another sad sob story wrecking havoc on my
mental health.

Sounds like what you REALLY need to get yourself treated rather than expect the world to follow your unrealistic expectations for the sake of your own mental health.bradhig wrote:I don't want anymore sad stories ever. I have been on paxil for a long time. Stuff like this just reminds me of what I don't have and can't ever find true love.pap64 wrote:Sounds like what you REALLY need to get yourself treated rather than expect the world to follow your unrealistic expectations for the sake of your own mental health.bradhig wrote:I don't want anymore sad stories ever. I don't much care for Disney villians. If I ever bought a Maleficent 12 inch doll I would let my Daleks run all over it.
In my mind Maleficent was created by Lucifer the devil to wreck havoc on our world.

Well I am on prozac, lamictal, and buspar and I love sad stories. Helps me realize how lucky I am. If your medication and psych aren't helping, get new ones. A good psych can help retrain your brain to look at the work a little brighter.

I had a psych until we had to move three times across the country. First from St. Louis to Elkton Oregon. then months after that to Olathe Kansas to my sister's house and then to the townhouse I am in now and then sob stories making it worse.
If her lover was killed to prevent him from becoming king then they need to be king and queen in the end. I usually
write stories that encourage people not to give up hope. Stories like this and the pointless death in the James Bond
movie make me believe such writers view the world as without hope and heading towards anarchy.

Word of advise: Don't watch anything Joss Whedon directs and/or creates.

Who was her lover and why was he killed?
I am working on a sleeping beauty fanfic in which the fairies blunder a spell and put everyone in the castle asleep
for 900 years and they wake up in the 25th century world of Buck Rogers. In one chapter Aurora was flying
a Terran starfighter in space and found a flaw in the Stargate system that sent her back in time to witnesses the
nuclear war called the holocaust in 1987 according to the show and she returns to the 25th century. The idea is
she helps Maleficent by traveling back in time to save her lover and bring him forward to her in the 25th century.
Cause I decided to bring the hammer down.

Don't even need to bring in the devil for her origin. Just use actual fairy lore: Maleficent's a nasty Unseeie Court fairy.bradhig wrote:In my mind Maleficent was created by Lucifer the devil to wreck havoc on our world.
Re: Maleficent (2014): Official Discussion
I certainly don't think she is created by the devil, she is a fairy through and through.
I think we just have to take this movie with a pinch of salt, until we actually see a trailer at least.

Ironically...I am watching Marvel's Avengers right now. Also a long time fan of Buffy. So your "advice" falls on deaf ears.estefan wrote:Word of advise: Don't watch anything Joss Whedon directs and/or creates.

I was moreso responding to bradhig's comment about how he doesn't like watching movies where characters have tragic deaths...and Whedon definitely loves to pull that on us (though, I personally think to great effect).Siren wrote:Ironically...I am watching Marvel's Avengers right now. I see. Didn't realize you were replying to one person. Seemed general. But I agree. Whedon is good at tragedies within his stories.

I have Avengers on DVD or Blu ray and it doesn't bother me at all. How many people were bothered when Old
Yeller died? Tracy Bond' James Bond's only wife died when she was shot by a passing motorist and that didn't bother me at all. Della Lester's death was far more brutal. They were about to make love for the first
time and were still dressed when they got jumped by bad guys. They show Della with her mouth covered being
restrained on her wedding bad and then they cut to another scene. Later Bond finds both his friend and Della
after the assault. Della had blood on her chest and her legs were spread eagle. That suggests she was gang
raped, shaken, stabbed ,and possibly had her neck broken. I can't see how people cannot start crying after seeing that. Worse that #*%#%*# writer messed up the ending. Felix seems glad his is getting out of the
hospital soon but doesn't seem sad or upset that his wife is dead after watching her die in front of him nor did
they try to bring reunite them at the end either in death or by Della having been spirited away prior to the
attack and it turned out to be a decoy that died that night. Maybe Della's death bothered me cause it
put Felix in the same situation I am in. That's without having fallen in love and am lonely.

You totally beat me to it. I was gonna suggest that one as well. Those viewer reaction videos on YouTube show how devastating this show can be to some people. It's brilliant.
