Not yet. The "gold" version just included a DC. Hopefully we'll get clarification from Disney through a press-release soon. Oz apparently will have a 3D-only BD, maybe they will do the same here?

The Beauty and the Beast 3D Blu ray wasn't released until a year after the original Diamond edition came out to coincide with the theatrical 3D release so perhaps we'll see a similar situation happen with Mermaid. At least I hope

Also Lnds500's theory sounds plausible.

I doubt that. I find the idea of a 3D-only Blu-ray incredibly moronic when you still provide combo packs with the other versions. I can't believe they're giving us a crappy Digital Copy instead of a 3D Blu-ray. :x It's particularly infuriating since Australia is apparently getting one.

I would understand a combo pack that just includes a Blu-ray and a 3D Blu-ray, but offering solely a 3D Blu-ray is absurd!

I agree. Don't get me started, seriously. ;)

I'm not even sure why Triton was included... a rock could have weighted that area visually just the same. Otherwise I really like both of the covers. :)

I think I would like the gold better, if it was just Ariel sitting on the rock alone and/or they shifted the picture down, so that there was more blue around her head. But either way, I would definitely get rid of King Triton. He is just too small.

Holy shit these are bad. I don't think we've had a cover this fucking atrocious since Beauty and the Beast's Diamond Edition.

Ugh, this whole 3D, no 3D, 3D, no 3D merry go round is pissing me off. Grateful to be getting the movie in HD, but the fact that they started promoting a 3D release with trailers and artwork and then decided to pull the theatrical release and now it seems the blu-ray release is just idiotic and a downright mean way to treat fans/consumers.

At this point I'm skeptical of whether or not we'll even get a new restoration given their track record with this release.

Another thing...if Cinderella had such disappointing sales, than WHY are they mirroring the way they packaged that film? At least Peter Pan used completely different artwork on it's gold packaging.

Excellent! They fixed Ariel's face. Although she is not on model, she looks way better than in the first version. I love it!!! :D

See, that's just so ridiculous that it's come to the point where a successful cover is when the character is sort of okay - not on model, but okay. That's sad.

Let's face it! These covers are never gonna get any better, so we might just as well be satisfied with what we have.

Look at Ursula's nubby little hands in the background! She looks like Homer Simpson! This is seriously bad work, guys. I don't see how anybody could like this. I'm sorry.
