Just don't. Wait for the Blu-ray to arrive. You can't judge how the BD will look from these, you'll get people discussing things they shouldn't be bothered with (compression artifacts etc) and you'll start a whole discussion on inaccurate info.

I plan on making a comparison for Mulan, Hunchback, Hercules (I already have done a DVD/HDTV for this one) and Roger Rabbit when the time comes but now it's too early.

I don't want to get my hopes up but how do we know these Blu-rays are going to be digitally sourced?

We've been waiting far too long to HoND to finally be re-released, and I even like the cover art!!!

Thanks for that link. Very distinct style (not very Disney-like though). After you see a couple of posters he has done, you immediately recognize his work. Love his work on HoND, hercules and RDU.

While I agree that it's nice to see that they used his art... they did sort of ruin it with the gargoyles. Laverne is unrecognizable and Hugo looks mentally handicapped.

It's kind of like pissing all over Alvin's legacy.

ugh...so many classics coupled with Sharon Morrill's cheapquels -I just cant bring myself to do it...
I think I'll be looking elsewhere for my blu ray copies of Hunchback, Mulan and Atlantis ...I think the UK releases blu rays of the stand alone classics without the direct to video stuff attatched...

Yep. I think I'm just going to pick up the 2002 DVD of Hunchback somewhere. Yes i know it doesn't look the best quality but as long as it is as far away from that wretched, wretched, wretched sequel, I don't care.

lol for me it does...thats why I suggested its a 'personal' thing...I worked on almost all of those darn number two direct to dvd movies and they all bring back very awful memories for me...I also had to sit through Sharon Morrill's mindless drivel when she came to visit the studio-"I only ever heard her use the term 'franchise' when she spoke of the classics.' They had no respect for the classics only as a means of leeching money from an already milked cow...yeah sure as direct to video films go they are better than most but I have always felt they spoiled the originality of the classics and tainted the water--- the average Stepford mum didnt know the difference probably and Disney made no attempt to differentiate between walt disney features and Disneytoon studios...as I say its a personal thing...I personally dont want to be reminded of them (sequels) and ultimately it brought Disney animation back to being little more than an electronic babysitter in that period after it had taken so long to be embraced by all ages...but I love the original features...
