Not bad.

Be very cool if the animals and clouds moved across the screen in the savannah shots.

Overjoyed that the audio commentary will be on the Original movie instead of "The Morning Report" version!

That second row of options seems a little strange. I cannot see what purpose they would serve (index?).

Perhaps you can choose your background for the menus?

Index is the Text Index of all the features within them.

Like for instance, Jungle houses the games. Elephant Graveyard is the deleted scenes & abandoned concepts. But since you wouldn't really know that without going to them, the index provides a text overview of everything.

I'd rather they just had one "Special Features" option than all that menu "fluff"

It sounds like the same thing as the Atlantis Collector Edition DVD set. They have themed menus for everything, so you have a fully immersive experience, but if you want just a plain old list of everything thats on it, just hit the text and you get it. It'll be fine.

I actually like the Atlantis 2 disc set - I can excuse the themed menus for the 2nd discs of the 2 disc sets because there is a hell of a lot of content and it's fun (and as you say the index is always there - even going back to the Snow White Disc). The three navigaion systems of the Atlantis disc are superb, certainly the best implementation yet. Although I prefer to view all the segments played back to back. (I think Atlantis is still the best multi-disc collectors disc Disney has ever done - from implementaion through to meaningful content).

However, there's hardly anything on the Lion Kings first disc. Less than there is on an average Gold Collection disc. Do we really need the same system on a disc with so little content?

It looks like all the menu screenshots are from Disk 1. I can't wait to see shots of Disk 2! Disk 1 has a preview of Disk 2? I've never seen this type of preview before.

Yeah, Snow White did. These menus disappoint me; they aren't CGI like Snow White's or Beauty and the Beast's. Maybe disc 2 will have all the CGI menus...

Actually, there is some CGI - but it's a horrible-looking Zazu as "host."
