I'm back baby!!!

Post by Mickeyfan1990 »

Well folks, after 3 1/2 days, I'm back! You probably heard about the snowy Noreaster in the East Coast (which happens every 60 years mind you); branches fell down, thousands with power and heat, let's just say, total hell. Luckily, my uncle's house was empty since he's currently on vacation and said my family could use it for the time being. Though I was lucky and grateful, I missed my house and was pretty sad what happened. But today, the power came back at my house and here I am! It is soooo great to be back home and I'm so happy!!! :)

Um... There's a special thread for Leaving and Returning.

But, yeah, I'm an East Coaster too and our power nearly went out about a half dozen times Saturday night.

Are you implying I never made you laugh before? That's sad.

I used to hate dogs, too, but my mother took one in when my sister found a puppy on the street (we thought it better than let it live with my sister; she really f-ed up one of the cats we gave her before) and I really love her. Still wouldn’t get one on purpose though. I don’t hate them in an “I would abuse them” kind of way though; I would take care of any animal rather than letting them starve or be put down.

People are talkin' 'bout cats? Yeah

Dogs are alright, a little needy. Cats are using bastards with cute whiskers and long tails that sleep 80% of the day or more :)

And welcome back Mickeyfan1990 :pink: :pink: :pink:

Hahaha, I despise cats. I don't despise people who love them, but personally I can't understand why you would waste time & money on an animal that tolerates you, at best.....if I wanted to live with something that spent 90% of its day sleeping and the other 5 licking itself, I'd just get married

(oh just kidding, of course. Not about hating cats though. That part's true).

ETA: lulz, forgot about the OTHER 5%.....it's a mystery

Depending on the breed and the babying their owners might condition them to, they can be VERY needy. Then, of course there's the hungry dog. You know the old saying about them not knowing when they're going to be fed next.

Agreed on cats, too. But they're much more entertaining than dogs in my experience. Some of them don't even need catnip to go batshit crazy. Which is fun as hell to watch. Cats love me, though, so I have it easy.

This is now the animals thread

Catnip does nothing to my cat apparently. They're amazing sleeping buddies. J.J. goes with anyone who falls asleep. That's why we never close doors.

I like rabbits too. I had one. My brother bought him for me off a homeless man for like $3 in Hollywood. He ran away though and we never found him

Oh, totally, there are dangers to having a dog. I LOVE them and still get very nervous when meeting a new one. But I still prefer them.....well, I will admit I don't like little dogs. Not because of the whole "yappy" thing, as there are plenty of noisy large dogs, but more because they just seem so delicate and fragile. I love a big dopey dog I can rough house with and then use like a big, kinda musty pillow when I get tired

I worked at a Petsmart (for less than a month, it sucked hardcore) and my favorite part was playing with the large dogs (cleaning up after them, not so much lol!) There was a female Rottie who would come in wearing a little pink bow by her ear, and she was so sweet and adorable....and she could have easily torn my throat out if she wanted to, but not once did I feel scared of her. There was also a St. Bernard named Winston--jesus, those are HUGE dogs! I'm 5'8" and he towered over me on his hind legs (liked to jump on people & put his paws on their shoulders, oy  )

I think my favorite memory though was actually with the small dogs--I was in the playroom with them, and the front wall is glass so shoppers/owners can see the animals playing. There was this one poor basset hound who would just lay there, all sad & pitiful, while literally every other dog in the room took turns, uh, 'dominating' him. So I was spraying one of them with the spritz bottle to get him off the basset hound, and the whole time this big chunky dude is standing outside watching....and the minute the dog I was spraying with water got off, another came up & got on. And I just threw my hands up & gave up, and the guy was laughing at me.....hahahaha god, don't miss that job!
