After months of unrest and bloody fighting in Libya, Colonel Gaddafi was killed today in his home town of Sirte.

I think it's a great shame that he did not give up his power when he was overthrown in August and answered for the thousands of innocent lives who were lost to him and his regime, not to mention sparing the lives who have been killed in the fighting since. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a new era of peace and justice in Libya.

Colonel Muammar Gaddafi killed
We're not going to Guam, are we?
Too bad he didn't get a trial in The Hague. I was curious to all the details he would tells us about all the millions of dollars, weapons, training and other support he received from France, Italy, Great-Britian and the US all those years. (To prevent this, they handed over Saddam Hussein to the Iraqis to hang him quickly after having only treated one of his many offenses in court. And the same reason Sobodan Milosevic died of a "disease" in his cell in The Hague.)
Today, I heard British prime-minister David Cameron praise the capture of Gadaffi and say he's glad Libyans are finally free. This is the same person who sold Gadaffi for $10 million worth of weaponry in January of this year, a mere month before the uprising began. Dutch prime-minister Rutte reacted the same way, after The Netherlands sold the Gadaffi-regime military equipment in the past years.
Yep, we love freedom so much...
Peace and stability in Libya? Only if the five (or more?) tribes aren't going to start a civil war.

True, it wasn't so long ago he was being lauded by our former Prime Minister Tony Blair for shutting down his nuclear weapons programme and called an ally of the Coalition. It's amazing to me that this man was allowed to retain power for forty-two years in which so many innocent people were slaughtered.
